Thanks for the replies guys. I've booked the car in to get them to replace the disks free of charge. Il report back and give the thread a bump in a few weeks to hopefully offer others a solution to what seems like a common problem.

installing the first ones isnt too big a job. can do it in an afternoon if your organised. you can go the whole way and remove the original wires and rewire decent wiring to the hu. for 55 quid i would just snip the originals out and splice the new ones into the original wires. all standard fit...

Spl dynamics,jbl 508c on a budgetor a set of rainbows will see a far better sound than standard if your looking at a higher budget amping isthe best way to do it. Just depends on your budget.

Budget in mind? Amped or not amped? Usual JBL, Hertz, SPL and focal are the most popular 13cm upgrades for most. All depends what you want from them.

Open the glovebox and pull down and out on the trim it comes off with slight force pretty easy not much risk of breaking clips. Other sides the same just pull it off.

you could mount them wherever you like just means running the wiring differently mate look at the pic i sent u and just imagint the crossover moving and the connecting wires getting longer.

Hate to tell you mate but the crossover for the 507c has to be mounted or sat in the door and new wire run to the new crossover which means wiring through the door which isnt hard just fiddly. Easily doable though :cool: justr set aside a weekend to get it all perfect no point bodging the job...

Those speakers are not great. Just look for 13cm comps on CAD a set of spl dynamics at £69 will be farrrrr better have a look about as their not veichle specific just the size your looking for. No point getting something poor when you could have something that will really change the sound mate

Jbl 507c components up front replace dash tweeter with jbl tweeter there like £40 50 Quid off eBay then use your original sub and amp in the boot. Job done as you won't get better for your current budget. Jbls are a very good budget componant speaker.

I run a twin jl box with 250rms into each sub. Picked the setup up for 200 with a good tune its enough to feel like someones kickin u in the back. Do rate jl stuff cheap with cracking sound.

Both are OEM shape and serve the purpose. You eont see any gains only advantage is that both can be cleaned saving money in the long run. I have the itg and tbh now id go with the cheaper pipercross or get an induction kit purely for the noise as you ll only see 1-2bhp differnce each way.
