Wow! Love this, i bought a 106 gti for a track toy a couple of months ago you just cant help but fall for them. Been looking into bike carbs on the cheap for mine interesting to see that all them set ups can be done with a stock ecu!

Yeah mate, chances are its the coilpack or leads, if you were local you could try mine see if that solved it. Injector's can get clogged up or just give up aswell which is what happened in my case. 167k i think she's earned a treat anyway wont do no harm replacing them :smiley:

Have you removed the sound deadening under the bonnet?

Try leads an coilpack off a car local to you if possible? Also maybe worth checking injectors.

Bit random but my stripped PH1 used to get a fair bit of water in through the grommets underneath the car that cover up the bolts to get your seats out, may be worth a check.

Miss my leon sometimes, watch that splitter now your lows! Bought a stage 3 astra vxr after the leon but the leon was a better car in every way. 3" TIP, intercooler, exhaust and a map and you'll be flying buddy.

My current 172 has a rs tuner map and is by the far the best mpg out of my previous clio's, saying that it idles at around 1000 mark but i think that's just a clio thing ha.

I loved it of course! Will have to pop up and say hello sometime and get some cleaning tips.

I'm not sure what i used for it now if i'm honest probably silicon, i remember heating the headlight back up with the glue though so it was nice and hot.

Back in the Saxo days you would stick them in the oven for the glue to heat up then get a screwdriver in between to pry them apart. Pretty ghetto thinking about in now hah!

I run them in mine, i fitted them onto OMP sub frame's and have the regular size (upto 34" waste) . Cant fault them tbh. If you order the luke harnesses with them i'm sure there's a discount.

Anywhere between 34-37 mpg. Phase 1 172 with a small amount of mods, not bad really.

Looks great mate! I'm now on my second phase 1, there just too addictive.

My first Ph1 was on 130k when i sold it(new owner has hit the 140k+ mark) had no issues with it, in fact it was the fastest out our group of clio's at the time hah. New one is on 86K wouldn't say it felt any newer. Just make sure it has been regularly maintained and serviced.

Hey thanks for the input! Car drove fine throughout the rev range started it on my lunch break fine and its just started up fine again. Fingers crossed the TDC will fix it!

Hey guys, i went to start my car up this morning and noticed the fuel pump didn't kick in when i turned the key. When i actually tried to turn the engine over the car wouldn't even crank, I checked the battery and immobilizer and they weren't the cause. Anyway i had to push the car off the drive...

Got a k04 turbo and s3 injectors here if you decide you want abit more power ;)

Will defiantly have to see it! Mine goes well in the R at 280bhp cant imagine it in a clio.

I ment he has the 220bhp version as opposed to the 180 bhp version :p Sorry miss-typed the question mark haha

My mate has the 220 bhp cupra r ?(stage 1) and tbh theres nothing in mine and his. But the tuning capability is defiantly to the leon's favour once he gets his boost pipes hes looking at around 270bhp with alot torque with a stage 2 map

My car is super hesitant till its warm tbh too. My cammed saxo was exactly the same! I replaced my injectors when i got the car and its still hesitant when cold i think its just one of them things...

Was working on mine just then and you went past, Does have a lumpy idle sounds similar to mine( which is cammed).
