Getting my geo set... Going to go for 2 camber and 0.1 minutes toe out. The camber I'm happy with, but have I got my units correct for the toe setting?
Finally got the suspension refresh finished on my car with a big thanks to Mike @ MWM.
Wow, what a difference it makes! New dampers, powerflex bushes, ball joints, inner & outer track rods and rack bushes. It drives like a different car! Bumps are handled much better and you can feel the ARB...
Maybe I've just had bad luck, but of all the stuff I've bought off here in good faith and being described as in good condition, they all been a load of s**t!
"Working gearbox" was fubar and no use other than for the case.
"Good condition wishbones" one of which is bent!
"good condition...
Yes, 3 weeks to get inner TRE's and rack bushes from Renault! Mike and Adam have been on it to source them but no luck at all.
Has anyone got some brand new inner track rods and rack bushes for a 182?!
I've finally got all the parts together for my suspension refresh on the 182.
New dampers
New ball joints
New TREs
Powerflex wishbone and ARB bushes
Powerflex dogbone
I had new OEM top mounts last year so will reuse those.
Rear dampers seem nice and easy. Is there a top mount type assembly...
Lots of people seem to be doing suspension refreshing at the moment. The only things I need to source for mine are dampers. Curious who people have found to be the cheapest?
Toying with replacing the wheel for a smaller one. I don't really want to move away from the standard one for cosmetic reasons, but I think practicality dictates.
Curious what people use, any pics? Please include the wheel diameter and if you find it too small, too big etc.
Trying to get prices on getting my gearbox to Agency.
Does anyone know the weight of the box?
Also, any suggestions for a cheap company to use?
Thanks.
A friend is struggling with her car.
"Car engine light keeps flashing and it's really hard to gain speed between 1st and 2nd gear. Feels like the car is jerking."
"No noise, and the engine light as in the one that looks like an engine lol. I will check my book to see if it has a fancy name...
Noticed this a few days ago and concerned it's my box on it's way out.
On the motorway, 5th gear from speeds of 65-75 and under load, I get a droning type noise. It sounds a bit like a wheel bearing, but it doesn't rumble. It also goes (or is too quiet to hear) if I let off the power.
I've...
Looking on here you see lots of standard 182 wheels in varying condition. None of them really seem to sell though? Is that really the case?
I'm toying with going down to 15" wheels for everything so was curious if I'd be able to sell them or not.
As part of the winter refresh, I'm going to fit powerflex bushes to my lower arms and arb. I was planning on getting some spare arms and assembling them up before then swapping them into the car, I need to keep it running for now and can't spend the time on it just yet.
I'm happy to have a...
OEM from Wests are just over £43 each so £180 for a set.
I don't think I can justify a set of decent coilovers new or used, but are there any middle ground options?
So I was quite pleased with my 2500s and some new HC discs. I've also got braided lines and 5.1 in there.
But now I'm getting more confident with braking later, I want more stopping power.
The problem is that the car gets used on road daily and occasionally by my wife. I don't really want...
Fitted a cde113bt that I bought from MT and an Alpine Ktp445. Fronts running all ok. But the rears don't work! They worked fine with the old cabasse though.
Ive taken the ktp445 out of the loop and it's the same. Could it be the hu itself? Or could the ISO adapter be wrong? I've taken pictures...
I want to put some better speakers in my 182 and need to replace all fronts as one of the tweeters has blown.
I don't want the hassle of fitting a crossover in so I'm looking for some that have an inline filter.
Any suggestions on what options I should be looking at? I'm going to run them...
Tempted to space my wheels out a bit.
To work out what can be put on without scrubbing I'm after some help. It seems from a search that 15mm on the rear is fine, but on the front, some people fit 25mm, some drop this down to 20mm? Which of these will fit with no rubbing?
Any pics of 182s on...
I've had my BG182 for a year now and have grown quite attached to it in that time.
Ive had a few mechanical bits that have needed sorting (water pump, belts, dephaser, pas pipe, brakes) so that's obviously taken priority.
Now I want to put some effort into freshening it up a little. As it...
Good news but bad news I guess... Car failed on a leak from one of the PAS pipes, so getting it booked in to Birchdown for a fix. Other than that it sailed through though and was described as a great little car!
Oh well.
I'm trying to sort out the huge consumption of space on my phone caused by having the camera roll and photo stream duplicating things.
Whist trying to dump all the pictures onto iPhoto, it seems to consistently fail at various points.
Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong...
So, when I bought my 182, I found a receipt for a KTec Group N remap/ecu. I'm assuming this is correct as the limiter is up in the 7's now.
I'm curious to have a play around with an RS Tuner but am I able to just plug one into my car as it is, or do I need to do something to remove the current...
