I used to get a noise that sounds similar to the one you describe in my old 16v. The noise disappeared when I had it decatted, so put it down a knackered cat.
To be honest, it could be anything that has worked loose and is resonating at those particular engine speeds.
I went to Le Mans in a 182 in 06 and didn't bother with anything for the headlights. A friend took his M3 to BMW so they could adjust the beam, but seemed like a lot of effort to me, plus we didn't drive at night.
I went from 182FF to Focus ST.
As said in standard form there really will be very little in it. Wouldn't be surprised if some 'quick' cups are slightly quicker than STs they've raced, especially if the ST is low mileage. 182 was more fun and arguably quicker on twisty roads.
Mk1 V6 - 0-60...
Sorry to resurrect an old post but first pictures I've seen of my old car since I sold it! Glad to see it's still looking mint - great job on the detailing.
Looks like it still has the BP Ultimate tax disc holder and 'Bridges of Reading' number plates too!
I still think it looked better...
ALL cars will use some oil even if it's hardly noticable - you'll never get a perfect seal between ring and liner.
Up to 1L per 1000 miles is considered normal although if I was approaching that I would be a little concerned.
May seem like a daft question, Kris, but was your car on the...
Just to wrap this one up, took the car to Bridges of Reading to get problems looked at.
1. Issue with suspension top mount - now sorted.
2. Exhaust had worked loose slightly - now sorted.
All very minor and didn't pay a penny; I was actually very impressed with Renault's service on this...
15.0 @ 94 last February at the 'pod. Only time I've run it.
15.7 is slow for a 1*2, but like you say if you're getting used to it and struggling for grip.......
I might give this guy a call - I have a full fat 182 (Inferno) that I need to shift due to an impending Focus ST.
Advert due to be posted up in the 'For Sale' section imminently!
I've literally noticed one 20mins ago on my rear-quarter and I'm f**king livid!
I'm so careful where I park to the point where most of my friends and family think I'm OCD, and it still happens. It was 'ding' free before that!!
Careless c*nts!
It's definitely not an import, I just thought I'd heard somewhere that the warranty was 2 years manufacturer, 1 year dealership.
I phoned Renault and the woman on the phone said she wasn't sure whether dampers were covered by warranty. Has anyone had a damper replaced under warranty during...
My 182 is just over 2 years old so is now covered by the Dealer Warrenty, rather than Manufacturer's warrenty.
It's going in to have a couple of knocks looked at next week and I'd really like to know where I stand in terms of warrenty cover for any work that needs doing. Where's the best...
My mate has a Mk4 GTi Anniversary (180). On the way back from Le Mans last year we had numerous opportunities to compare from standing and rolling starts, and whilst the 182 doesn't romp away, it is noticably quicker.
We were both loaded up with gear and a passenger each which probably...
Think you've hit the nail on the head there. Mine will be on the market soon (might wait til after xmas though), but I'll certainly be advertising everywhere else.
Definitely worth holding on, rather than dropping the price, if you can.
Appreciate what you're saying but 99.9% of people on the road won't know that so whatever colour it's in most people will just think "look, they've got 'go-faster' stripes on their little clio".
You're already sad for having virtually the same car anyway, so why not go the whole hog ;)
Seriously though, when I bought my Inferno from a Renault dealership it had racing stripes in a silvery/antracite sort of colour and I thought it looked good (they'd just put them for display...
Normally under 3-4k for 10mins or so from cold but as others say its hard to really tell without an oil temp gauge. Will vary with ambient temperature and also how long car has been stood for.
I personally wouldn't worry too much about religiously keeping below 3k revs for 15 mins, as long as...
^^^The main reason why I wouldn't mess about with one. If the process of fitting one was completely reversible i.e. without taking a drill to your car, then I might be tempted to try one.
Can't make my mind up!
The two colours go well together but it's a bit inconsistent and messy as you have the yellow diamond on the front, a silver one on the back, yellow side badging, but silver rear badging.
Just doesn't quite work for me I'm afraid.
