the usual stuff,
high comp pistons, wild cams, rods, shells, bolts, valves ETC
which companies supply these items?
seen engine dynamics and the such but never had to buy stuff like that for clio's.

i have been told that there is apparently a difference between the shells of a Cup and a FF.
is this true, i personally think not.

got a spare set of RS inlet manifolds and i wanna get them ported out, anyone know how much meat can be taken off it and or if its simply a case of attaching the inlet gaskets up to it and chopping back to that?
so, i've got a replacment engine in my 172, its a 182 bottom end with 40k miles on it. the top end is a ported and polished head, matched inlets, its got a big exhaust, race cat. might have other mods to ECU but not sure, i brought it with no engine!
we put a new timing belt on, and the timing...
so,
i replaced the engine in my 172 with a different bottom end. everything is linked back up, battery has 13volts.
turn on the key, all lights come on but when i move the key to fire it up, nothing, not a click or anything.
any pointers?

i need some new alloys for my cup racers. the ones that came with it are ok but very heavy! the 15" are heavier than the 17"s on my evo.
what is the fitment for the clio cup race cars and what are teh good makes of alloys that are forged and light.
not too fussed about cost just want strong...
had my air cond topped up in the summer, within a day, it was empty. not impressed the the place that did the job because i would of thought the leak detector should of found the leak.
is there any, 'typical' places for the gas to leak on a phase 2 172?

since changing the timing belts my 172 has start to idle a bit odd, it often stalls because the revs drop so low. however, it revs fine and runs perfect throughout the rev range. when we did the belts, i removed the throttle body and gave it a clean out with some carb spray cleaner.

a friend of a friend has offered me a clio cup race car.
just had rebuild of gearbox, new diff and the engine is pukka.
its been used and did well in the championships, the current owner won the championship twice! its not raced since 05'.

what is a dephaser pulley? and will i need to change it when i do my timing belt?
i've read the 'how to guide' regarding the timing belt changing and i must say i thought it was a lot easier than the guide makes it out to be.
i've done belts on evo's and rally cars in the past and havn't found...

recently got my clio 172 back off my ex-g/f and have decided that i'd like to 'fettle' with it a little bit to improve on it so i can do a few track days over the winter while the racing season is finished. i don't want to go silly as i already run a evo 6 race car.

anyone on here know anything about Mk1 clio cup race cars? or mores the point, where i can buy one? fancy having a season in LMA's in 1 after winning this seasons nippon gt500 class in my evo 6.

the clio makes a droning noise that gets worse with speed, thought it might be exhuast but the noise is at the wrong engine level.
i'm thinking rear wheel bearing?
