Hey,
Years ago when I was on here more frequently and had a Mk2 I purchased a replacement pair of door sill protectors for a mk2 ph2 3 door Clio, with the plan to carbon fibre cover them, however I never got around to it, and we now have a mk3 and mk4 so not any use to me.
If anyone would like...
Bought my mk3 clio (sports tourer) a month ago second hand at 1 year old, and it wasn't originally spec'ed with a spare tyre, which worries me as our work car part is notorious for nails (Had one go through the tyre on my mk2 a few months ago). so yesterday I went in to Renault and asked if I...
When I passed my test 4 years ago my instructor warned me about this as it was common on the roundabout on the dual carriageway outside collage, taking advantage of the traffic and inexperienced drivers to get insurance payouts on old broken cars, and what you've explained sounds just like it.
First time I've posted one of these, but was walking back to our new house late this afternoon/early evening and crossed the road (at the roundabout at the top of willsbridge hill) behind a ly 182 with a cliosport sticker in the rear window.
Thought I'd be interesting to see if it's someone who...
Thanks martin, I'm going to be on to them as soon as I can (somewhere between finishing my degree work, moving house, sending wedding invites and traveling back down to pick her up! It's going to be a hard week)
No I wasn't told, the garage has been a pain since I got it from them. When I...
Should have her back next week :-) think my mum or brother will be driving her before me though :-(
The guy who's done it has kept the original parts for me though, as the belt had been changed, but the tensioners hadn't. So I'm hoping I might be able to claim some of the costs back seeing as...
I'm currently Bath, but will be (Outer) Bristol soon. Maybe up for something depending on when and what it is as very busy at the moment. Only ever been to meets from cs when I was on placement last year so not really sure who any of you guys down here are.
Like the sound of eating, i'm not...
Ah thanks for all the help. Will get this one rebuilt, at least I know I've looked after it and it was running smooth before, wouldn't want to put a knackered engine in her.
I'd thought about asking them to replace the water pump, but hadn't thought about the clutch so will ask them to do that...
Look in the guides section, I followed it a few weekends ago and the rattling has gone, as well as the leaking which was what I was trying to stop. Mine rattled for a while then started leaking. Actually where it has been rattling it had worn through the paint and just left the undercoat :s
The...
I had the same problem with not receiving any radio stations (although it only started a couple months after owning it). Last weekend I took the base of the aerial off the roof and opened it up (there are a couple screws underneath iirc), and a capacitor had blown and leaked all over the rest of...
Yea, I'll get a proper estimation. This was just a rough guide given by the local chap who does the farm work. He's busy after the bank holiday weekend so his coming back to collect it on Thursday and then will have a proper look.
Thanks for the suggestion Steve, but i'm stuck in Cornwall at my...
sh*t, got a mechanic to look at it and he says it's the cambelt, and I'm looking at £1k for it to be repaired.
Anyone know where I stand with the company who replaced it 16months ago, I just rang them up and they said to basically go away as they will only cover it for 12months. Feel this is...
Thanks guys, been out all day and I didn't get any pictures before I left and now it's all dark.
I've been out and looked at the pot we put under the leak and there is no more than 50ml there.
Will get it to a garage in the morning not sure I want to tow it, free wheeling down the hill was...
Was about 20 meters from our top gate at home and the car (1.5 dci) made a couple crunch noises and cut out, grinding to a stop (thought it was stalled, but wouldn't start again)
Opened the bonnet and there was a small amount of smoke and electrical burning smell.
We pushed it back to the...
Found out more from the garage, apparently the garage that fitted them must have not done the balljoints on the wishbones tight enough and they've been working them selves around and worn away the holes in the wishbone and the ball joint has worked free, knackering both the ball joint and the...
The other half is getting the new tyres fitted today and alignment done, but just rang me to say they've found out the reason the steering has been funny when straightening up fast for the last week or so... it would seem the 8month old ball joint has cracked, although worryingly they say it...
Thanks, Bathwick tyres would be handy, although tempted by Able Fit. We've moving to just outside of Longwell Green Next (from Bath) next month, so if they're good then it'd be handy to have a local place I can trust, and have a history at a garage (I've moved around so many times in the last 2...
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone in the Bath area can recommend a good garage to get the tracking and a geometry check done?
Would be much happier if anyone has any recommended ones, I had to do the tracking twice in a month once as I went to a rubbish garage so would rather avoid that situation...
Owned the car 20 months now, and have put on 12 new tyres (4 were replaced on buying, 2 i've just ordered from camskill) although 4 have been on the rear
Surely this isn't normal! It's always the inside edge on both of the front tyres which goes and i've had the tracking done at least 4 times...
This made me smile.
My mum's been asking me what car I want for my wedding car recently, I've been wondering if I can get the chip's & scratches taken out of mine and poss refurb the alloys with the hire money and use it instead
o2 did exactly the same as that too me, and when said I already had a better deal offered to me from Orange they said yes but you wont change network will you, you've been a constant customer with us of over 7 years. So I got my PAC code and changed to orange, now spending less a month for the...
The reading in the car has been wrong for ages and i'm getting annoyed at it, so is there an easy way of replacing it as don't really want to faff with removing actual body panels or the dash or anything.
Also guessing the part is just a order from Renault part, just to get the sensor, or will I...
thats interesting. Think that's what was happening last year, kept thinking i'd must have forgotten to lock it, but always checked that it was locked when I got out. This it might have happened again a few weeks ago though, could decide though. Was starting to worry I wasn't locking it.
Also...
I know police and stuff can track a mobile from the triangulation between masts and find it, but does anyone know of any way 'normal' people can find where a phone is?
If it helps it's on the orange network, and i'm not a stalker, but someone I know who left their phone on top of a trailer and...
I'm so greatful of my dci atm, driving to uni and back everyday, and sometimes twice and not breaking over £ 20 a month of fuel. Just covered 7 weeks with £60 of fuel with twp trips to bristol.
The efficiency does drop if your only doing town/short journeys though.
All that has been at 57mpg...
And servicing and stuff, got a card telling me my mot was due from them the other day, only prob was it was actually up in august, so no idea how they gained 3 months.
Also the whole catch was changed on mine not just sprayed, thought it was the same for sports and non-sports
