Just been out in car and although it clunks I still think it may be an engine mount as the movement of the gear stick seems a bit excessive, how many engine mounts are there on the 1.6 and which mount is most likely to cause this issue?
Cheers

Hi I have a 2002 Clio 1.6 Dynamique and have had a problem by when you come off the throttle and change gear you get a clunk, I just presumed a worn engine mount, however it was in the garage today getting the cambelt done so I asked them to have a look, they say that two mounts have slight play...
So it could be that the tracking on both wheels is way out? I always thought if you hit the kerb on one side you would end up with.
/ | or \ |
so to get both out and by a similar amount is strange, when the new tyres go to get fitted I will get the tracking done, if the wheel is still wonky...
I too have the same problem as Jaff87, car drives in a straight line just the steering wheel isn't straight when it does, on older cars you could just take the wheel off and put it back on straight, but Im guessing you can't do that with Clio's (2002 1.6 Dynamique), some sensor or something...
I have a 1.6 too and mine cut out when cold, ended up changing the tdc Sensor, still found that it ticked over quite low so cleaned the throttle body and that sorted everything, the only other thing I can think of is a clogged fuel filter as cutting out when you go round a corner sounds more...
Hi
I have a 2002 Clio 1.6 Dynamique + with AC, for the last couple of weeks I've had no air coming through the heating vents doesn't matter what speed or temperature I set it too.
Anyway after looking on here decided to see if it was the dreaded resistor pack, took the plug off and read...
Hi Flick3k
I've had a similar problem on my 1.6 Dynamique+, mainly in the winter but this was due to it ticking over at 650 - 700rpm from the off, every now and then it would tickover at 1100rpm before dying down as it warmed up like it should, in that time I replaced the coolant sensor which...
I've got a 1.6 16v clio and looking for some mods, the megane 2.0 16v throttle body is that the one off the old megane coupes with about 150BHP are they a direct swap? Looking at getting a remap which with filter and exhaust should take it to 120BHP from 110BHP, finally where did you get the...
The trim that sits accross the bottom of the windscreen and sits over the wipers seems very lose, is it supposed to be bonded to the screen?
Noticed at each end there is a cut out in the trim with a hole in the wing as though something is supposed to fasten in there, if so does anybody no the...
The rear left seatbelt is ripped, so looking to replace it, however when i took the plastic panel off, I've noticed that it has a pre-tensioner built into it, is it possible to fit a none pre-tensioned one or does it not fit in the hole? have also been told that if I disconnet the pre tension...
Hi
The wiper blade split on the drivers side and as it was pelting down it was three of four sweeps before I realised what had happend. Basically its left 3 scratches across the drivers side of the windscreen top middle and bottom (typical) the scratchs are about 2 or 3mm wide you can barely...
Hi
If your car is the same setup as the K-tec pic you can do this mod for a lot less, try Motorworld as they sell lengths of stainless piping including bends for about £20 they also do universal filters for a tenner so then all you need is a silicone elbow so what you would need to do is...
Oh joy, £300 for peace of mind!
I've done a cam belt on an 8v Mk 2 Golf GTi but I think I will leave it to the Pros like you say I will make sure they have the proper locking tools to do the job, or at least some kind of warranty in case it goes wrong!
Am I better letting the garage buy the...
Are these as expensive to replace as the 1*2. Just mines done 55k and is 6 years old so wanting to get it done!
Is it something a good garage can do, or does it require renault or a renault specialist?
What kind of price am I looking at including parts or would it be cheaper to get the...
Welcome to the club!
My 1.6 16v feels quite nippy certainly lights the tyres up very easily, have had a do with a MG ZR 105 and got a way from it, have also had a few do's with Paxo VTRs and its more or less bonnet for bonnet, so guess you could call it a luke warm hatch lol, Dynamique has...
Just wonder how much the price will drop on these cars as they are already rare so will no doubt start going back up in price!
Just had a look on autotrader and theres a Ph2 V6 for £9,500 on a 53 must be a typo either that or something is wrong with, as the next ph2 is 16k!
Noticed that car...
Have seen the above car for sale in a garage just wondering did they keep the old front end in the v6 for a year or two longer than the std model just on a 53 plate a normal clio would have a ph2 front end!

Hi after fitting my new coolant sensor last week I've come to the conclusion its made b***er all difference :( .
Once fitted would I have to disconnect the battery to clear out any error codes and get it working correctly?
Also is there anyone who knows what the error codes are which don't...
I have a 02 Dynamique+ 1.6 16v got all the above except it doesn't have auto wipers or headlights, doesn't even have an adjustable intermittent wipe which is really annoying. I think the + meant that you got climate control instead of aircon and an electric sunroof.
Think the Dynamique was...
Finally got round to changing the coolant temp sensor and I thought it had sorted the problem as it was ticking over at over 1000rpm from cold. However th g/f went out in it about 6 hours later after I had started and said it was ticking over at 750rpm when she started it. Have also cleaned the...

The image above is of the temp sensor (purple and green wire) good job I got the bloke from Renault to have alook otherwise I'd of got the wrong part! £16 plus vat which ain't to bad for Renault, dead easy to change as well as its only the circlip that holds it in. As i took that off give it a...
When i bought my back box for the 1.6 16v it said it fitted both the 1.4 16v and 1.2 16v when it arrived it came with a reducer pipe which I just cut to suit the bore on my system.
