Is this reversably a straight swap too? IE, replacing 182 xenons with just the regular cup / trophy lights? Would this have any effect the electronics or the operation of the auto lights etc, or will everything just work as it normally would have with the xenons?
As above approx 1pm this afternoon. Near side quarter panel had a big ding. I was 3 cars behind you after the roundabout, as you approached the traffic lights in Brom.
Check out the Birkenhead docks. The warehouse opposite the old ship museum has been abandoned for a few years now, so you could possibly get a few good shots down there. I'm not sure if you can get full access to the site though. I will take a drive past there tomorrow and check it out for you.
Spotted a black 172 with 17's & standard silver 172 on the M53. Also saw a petrol 182 in Birkenhead earlier today. The 4th was a gold modified ?something? with quad exhausts in Prenton. Finally, spotted two blondes in a Mk1 in woodchurch on the Wirral today, so surely there must be a few of you...
Only 5 minutes away from Prenton. Drop a PM if you fancy arranging a small meet on the Wirral. Maybe a bite to eat and a pint and New Brighton. Be good to meet all the Wirral members.
17's with 205/45/17 rubber will fit fine mate. Mines slammed on 40mm apex with 17's and no scraping. If you are after 182 16's, I will have a set of 4 available at the end of the month. Where in the Wirral are you from?
Strange place to live yes, but quiet and secure, the little clio's are quite safe as the car shop next door has 24/7 cctv which covers most of the houses on our street. Neighbour leaves his Skooby and Evo 6 on the street too, and we have not had any issues in 3 years. :D (Touch wood)
Just picked up this little number for the missus, as she refuses to drive mine when I am away on work assignments. It’s in absolutely mint condition inside and out. It’s a Y reg 1.2 Grande with 40k on the clock.
I’m sure she’s going to be quite happy when she gets home tonight and see’s this on...
As above. RB 182 driving along Grosvenor road, then turned into Slatey road around 7pm Wednesday, doubt you noticed the 182 as it was in pieces on my drive.
I got a new one for my 182 from "Motor World" a few days back, cost £59.
The battery size is:063, the number is EP41-LP1, it's 360A and will do the job just fine. Exact same physical size as the Renault original, just a few AMPS less.
Hope this helps:) .
Please double check the FF seats' wiring before you re-connect your battery, remember, I took the seats out, and the seatbelt thingys off in a rush. Don't want to see your next thread saying "airbags deployed on new seats when fitting".
Alternatively, you should not have any problems if you do...
Just out of interest, how much does a mint condition 2nd hand set of front leather / Alcantra seats from a 182 currently sell for?
Seeing as I did not have much interest in the buckets, I think I am just going to fit them and get rid of the FF seats. But I would like to know a realistic “fair”...
No, it's me that was stupid, I removed the alternator from the front of the car, but the pipes from that pump were in the way, and I did not want to damage them, so I disconnected them, not knowing what they were for, and ended up covered in yellow liquid. One way to learn I guess:o
Cheers Ben, unfortunately I was unprepared for this and got covered in the liquid lol. So I guess this means that the aircon won't work until it has been re-gassed.
Anyone got a pic or schematic of how the aux belt should look when fitted please?
Ok, I have managed to remove the alternator from my 182, and will be replacing it with a new one this week.
I have a few questions for you experts:
Just below the alternator is another pump, with a cog, which I presume has something to do with the aircon. When I removed the 2 silver pipes...
Easier just to run your live wire on the opposite side of the car from your amps phono wires. (live down the left of the car, the phono cables from the amps to the head unit down the drivers side). This should eliminate the interference you are hearing when accelerating.
lol I agree with you Rich, mines normal, got 30k on it, no dents and in mint condition inside and out. If you look after it, they will still look good even though you have to clean a B/G more than any other colour. Took mine for its 1st MOT yesterday, and had a faultless pass, the tester asked...
