Had 5 years no claims, protected as it didn't cost much more.
Anyhow the 172 has been written off and a payout is coming my way (£5,800!)
Just wondering if anyone knows how this might affect my future policies ? Am I likely to get a massive increase ? This is a factor in trying to decide...
unlucky, I wrote mine off on Sunday morning too so I know how it feels !! Not one bump in about 10 years of driving then I go and do this :|
(not confirmed a write off yet but it will be..)
aye I checked on parkers but the values are very high compared to what they are actually selling for now. Plus it has dealer values etc on there, I take it I would get offered the lowest - private sale.
Crash was pretty much my fault but the other person didn't indicate which lead to me doing...
Wrote off my car this morning :(
Not been able to get through to insurance as they are closed today (esure) but does anyone know what kind of payout I will get on my insurance ?

Mines a euro import and I got the letter through this morning, recorded delivery no less - lucky I was in to sign for it.
I don't know if I can be bothered going though, mine looks perfect with no signs of corrosion... Is it actually worth my time or are the defects hidden so to speak.
Also...
But the rev limit is reduced to like 6.8k not 2.8k If it is struggling to 2.8k then something isn't right imo... you can't possibly call that abusing it. What would happen if you lived near a motorway and needed to go on it straight away, you would be stuffed if it wouldn't go above 2.8k
Just for an opposite view... mine doesn't do this. Sure it's lumpy when cold and tends to jerk about when changing gears but on the very odd occasion I do push it when cold it seems to be fine and certainly no flat spot below 3k. I once, admittedly rather stupidly, hit the lowered rev limit as...
I drove with a front spring snapped for a week or so (after noticing so possibly longer) and it was 'fine' but I was being careful. Speed bumps were horrific but as long as you don't go chucking around I wouldn't worry too much.
I think it cost me about £50 to get it fixed at a garage. I asked...
As above... I would like to know the answer to this but it's still not clear from that reply.
If you buy the 2nd license can you interchange it between 2 cars or not ?
Mine scares the s**t out of my in the wet.... it feels like i'm driving on ice on the motorway! no grip whatsoever... my tyres look fine tread wise, they are p zero neros which were on when I bought it but i think it might be time to get some new ones.
