    I had this, was the brake contactor which was broken, brake lights worked but the ESP/Serv light came constantly on on motorways and the CC was out of order, new contactor cured the problem.

    The 182 is the best cat, so good it makes no difference to a decat, is metalic and far less restrictive. Either 172 cats are far from being an upgrade. 182's or leave it alone.

    You need ECU reprogramming. I had this same issue on my 182 (factory loaded CC option) and in my 172 (CC feature added using second hand parts). When mapping it with the rstuner Henk was very kind to fix it for me in both cases. A bit expensive buying an rstuner to just activate the cc, but...

    That yes, decat is much louder, I have a REMUS exhaust and decat sounds delicious, but better not to pollute much, I out flangs on the cat, so it is an easy in/off if I want more sound for a time.

    I was after an asnwer as well, since fitting cams my dynamic CR is now lower than OEM, Henk recomends me not to go high comp, but the maths I've done tell me otherwise. I may end up doing it in the end :D

    No, 182 is metalic and much more free flowing than the 172 ceramic one, you can either decat it or look for a 182's, I have 182 mani and cat, and have tried it decat also and there is no difference, so cat stays on.

    Send Henk an e-mail, he sorted me out, this happened to my 182 and 172 when remapped, he fixed it both times.
