    BEST BOOT INSTALL

Thats ok, i know the score will be down. Im hoping for anything over 140 on the TL sensor. I want a reading that is right. At a soundoff recently (measured with an Epic 150) I was 2db louder than the guy with the black golf, an 18" CV Stroker and Nemesis amp. Im sure you know him.

    BEST BOOT INSTALL

been testing it roday now that everything is back in and working properly. theres not a major volume increase as such but the bass is much tighter and seems to have a lot less lag so music sounds better. The low bass in the 20Hz-35hz range seems a little better too. As soon as its been db...

    BEST BOOT INSTALL

Thats a bit of a wounder about the operation...good luck with the recovery. I know I could probably get similar db figures with the 2 HCs than with all 4 subs but it was done as a demo car for my old company and had to look the part as well as perform. What you cant see is the box for the HCs...

    BEST BOOT INSTALL

cswclio - i see your point on the 6x9s but seriously it sounds quite detailed and theres plenty of good quality treble and midrange in there. The old Pioneer 2 way 6x9s are one of the best sounding all round 6x9s ive heard (SQ wise as running high pass). Components would be a bit better but for...

They look to me like the old Pioneer high end subs with the metal cone. I dont remember the model number though.

    Mixing subs in install

it is always recommended that you use 2 subs of the same brand and the same model and size etc as every sub has its own characteristics. If you are going for 2 12s then you should have the same models. I use 2x ported 12s and 2x sealed 15s in the same install which after plenty of testing ive...

    BEST BOOT INSTALL

Cheers Czone. The new system has been in for ages now but ive only recently had the new pics sorted. Its all coming out again at the weekend for some extreme sound deadening. Its had a fair bit already but still rattles too much. Its gonna be a case of MDF panelling the boot and over the rear...

    SOUND SYSTEMS.........

oh and FATBOY. I would love to see someone try to nick mine. Its kept nicely locked away, there is no key to start it and you cant hotwire it without removing the bonnet due to metal tubes being in the dash for the wires to go through. If they wanted the system it might take a while as it...

    SOUND SYSTEMS.........

Adam - thats a fair point. In theory it should sound sh*t and i definately wouldnt recommend a setup like it but after a couple years of testing and changing equipment ive got it sounding near enough exactly how i like it. The idea was to get it to sound as good as my home system which was about...

    SOUND SYSTEMS.........

Nope..nothing to do with team Dave. Ive heard of them though. They are doing well in this years comps I believe. Mine isnt an SPL car. It just has a half decent streetbass setup with plenty of treble to keep up with it. It sounds nice considering there are different sizes of subs and plenty of...

    smoothing for colour coding

The professional job costs about £700 but they do the lot for that and the dash comes out in a proper bodyshop finish. Ill be getting mine done as soon as I can get the cash together...could be a long while. Ive been trying to find some pics for you but I cant find any of his car.

Any spaces left for the french car day

are there any more spaces left on the Cliosport stand for the French Car Day? I forgot the show was this month til the other day. I came last year with you guys and it was a good day (even though i had to pay twice). My membership ran out a couple of months back though...doh!!! Russ

    smoothing for colour coding

you can do it with P38 filler or a lot of coats of hi build primer but you will need to spend ages doing it. My mate had his Fiesta Zetec dash and doorcards smoothed at a bodyshop and it looks mint.

    4 channel amp

both on the headunit and the amp. Are you sure the tweeters havent blown on the 6x9s. If youre playing distortion through them then theyll blow over time.

    How Loud is Ur Install

oh and I have an Audiocontrol Epic 150 db tester if you need it for a meet. It will record reliably up to 150db (around 3db too high) and then anything above that tends to be a bit less reliable. Its set up already on a flylead to be ran in other people cars. I have used it in a soundoff...

    How Loud is Ur Install

I recently managed a 151.2db reading on the Audiocontrol mics. I havent had it tested on the Termlab sensors though. Thats from 2x Kicker L7 15s in 1.5cuft sealed boxes with 1800 rms to each from 2x Audiobahn A1800DTs. There is also a pair of ported Resonant Engineering HC12s with 2x Rockford...

    JBL AMP HELP

I cant remember if that amp is 2ohm stable per channel but if it is then technically yes. If it is only 4ohm per channel then no but you could risk it for speakers. If both sets of components are going in the front then you could use 2 channels to run both sets, the othr 2 channels for the...

    This combination

Its a bit difficult to say really. Technically you should have better SQ as single sub systems do tend to sound better unless set up perfectly. Loudness wise it will be tight because he has more cone area but you have more power. I would think you would get slightly louder with your setup but...

    This combination

A guy at the Modded Nationals last year (He might be there this year too) with a dark blue Escort RS Turbo van was running 4 of the big Kenwood monoblocks. He was using 4x Kicker SPL 15" sealed subs and was hitting 150.9db and sounded very clear with it.....so the amps cant be too shabby. The...

    interior colour coding

nah i couldnt be arsed with the interior paint...too expensive. IYou can get 3 cans of normal paint for the price of that stuff. I didnt do any danding. I just cleaned the dash with a bit of cloth and soapy water, let it dry properly and stuck a couple of coats of high build primer on. Then I...

do you mean something like this: http://www.evilice.freeservers.com/images/dsc00019.jpg I used normal spray paint and high build primer from Motorworld at £5 per can. Its been on 4 years now and needs to be maintained a little bit but its been good so far. The rest is done in blue Vinyl...

    Are PYLE any good

I would be very wary. If it was just a screen then you might be alright but if youre going to be using it as your headunit as well then I seriously wouldnt bother. Pyle make amps, subs and speakers too and all of them are pretty lame unfortunately. How much are you getting it for?

    Sub & amp

Nope..the alternator should be fine. I think yours is a 70 amp model but I might be wrong. You could get a yellow top..they are good batteries but fairly pricey. I use them myself. Stinger and Odyssey make some good batteries too.
  29. E

    Sub & amp

Power caps arent very well thought of in the ICE industry as they dont really do a lot. I would say if you have a power problem then you might want to invest in a bigger battery. Get the biggest one that will fit in the tray with the largest CA or CCA rating and AH ratings you can find...that...

    SPLX, would you get one

the power figures are hugely overrated. The build quality is laughable. The company that make them ive been told specialise in fridges and washing machines etc....sounds good so far doesnt it. If you want me to go on. SPLX subs have a nasty habit of dying with not a lot of power through them...
