Forgot to add i'll be doing it myself, so that obviously saves a nice sum of cash. Just wondered if anyone else has bought these parts in the past? I'd be using the 5th gear from my current box.
I've also read that these boxes are very sensitive to the oil they use?
This is to anyone who's rebuilt a jc5. My syncros are grinding occasionally in 3rd and 4th, and I'm just trying to weigh up the difference in costs between a used box, or rebuilding the spare box I have with a damaged 5 gear, with new bearings and sychros. Used boxes seem to vary so much in...
I've got the opportunity to have the above stereo for my ph1. Only problem I can see is, the 182 has navigation, factory fit with the colour screen, and the radio shows up on it. Hoping it will fit!
Mine has one missing I think - it has one on the outside of the bulkhead, but nothing inside. Ive tried pulling the outside one up to get the lip inside the car to no success. Ive looked at 182 and it has one inside.
Can anyone have a peek at their 172 for me at the bottom of the column where...
Worth buying decent boots all round, although if you have to keep them, leave the Pirellis on the rear. How was the Focus? Nearly bought one twice now, but something puts me off.
I'll say it before anyone else - don't bother trying to make it go faster. Save your money. Nice wheels, maybe some budget coil overs and keep it nice and clean. Save all other money for a Sport.
Re: 172 Recently Purchased - Humming noise from behind the two front central air vent
Certainly sounds like it, more than likely a duff new alternator.
Re: 172 Recently Purchased - Humming noise from behind the two front central air vent
If its affected by turning the radio on/off, it sounds like an electrical fault, possibly bad earth/loose connection/duff new alternator. Only happened since the alternator was fitted?
A lot of places that map don't have rolling roads. You can even get mobile mappers that come and 'live map' while you drive. Most places just buy the necessary equipment from a retailer, and act as a franchise as such.
Gaz coilovers on my 205mi16. We're soooo uncomfortable. Lasted 2 months before I fitted gti-6 shocks and Eibach springs. Much better. Apart from that, not really, and I've done a few! Although many when I was 20-24, before serious girlfriends and a son.
Just inherited my partners 3GS. When I got it I updated it to iOS 5, with the latest software as of 2 weeks ago. Since then it's slowed right down. Takes ages to catch up with me, and sometimes when I go back a page on here, it takes me back to the blue forum, and 3-5 days back! Either I'm Marty...
Id rather an iPhone 4. I've always used my gen 4 iPod touch at work for Internet, but have just inherited my partners 3GS. The screen is so much harder to read for someone with poor eyesight! Just IMO of course.
Looks really nice. If it was up for sale a month ago I'd of happily Paid £1500 for it. It's a shame so many people are put off by write offs. I've owned a few and had no troubles.
Weird, I never found my Ignis tiring to drive! I did 60 miles a day in it, although that was always on B roads, so driving rather briskly! They are such good cars, shame they never got the recognition they deserved. Never had a disappointed passenger in that car!
Perfect now, needed a few small bits but haw a friend breaking one, so got parts for peanuts. Needed a dephaser pulley which I did myself, plus a couple of tyres. I've now got a really nice ph1 that owes me £1200. I could of paid £1500 for a supposedly well maintained one and still have to do...
Couldn't agree more. There's some jokers on eBay still goin by book valuations on 172's, and when you make them a realistic off they don't like it! Someone wants 3k for a 172 exclusive with horrible wheels!
Ahh, remember you from the Ignis forum. I've just sold mine too and got another Clio. Miss the Ignis a lot though, so so much fun! Good choice, 200's are growing on me.
