I drive a diesel day in-day out and it just doesnt cut it the same as any petrol ive driven. Boring. Souless. No character. I think thats why people enjoy the clio so much. The car (and engine) have character and its a more involving experience...
anyone know how much i'll get fined if i get pulled with a silver on black pressed aluminium type plate thingy. old school stylee. want a set for my mini (1987)...
Anyone know what im doing wrong? im getting quotes of around the 3k mark for a clio dci (ins grp 4)? I cant seem to get any decent quotes. Got one for a 172 and was about £5000 and im nearly 19 (no NCB) so no chance of getting one any time soon... currently pay £800 through my dads insurance on...
Longest drive ive done is hull-huddersfield-crawley (near gatwick)- haslingden (lancashire). Driving for about 15 hours and over 700 miles in one go... wouldnt do it again tho... i got the biggest bollocking off my dad (i took his car) when i got back.... red bull cans and general crap...
Have you just not read the post or do you feel that you need to ignore Killer Cup's comment to get your own (incorrect) point over???
Im no expert and I obviously missed that post... but I said earlier I personally think its better to start your own NCB as the policy holder... which in...
but this is proper insurance the car would be insured fully comp so if you did have a crash it would just be like having a crash in you "own" car
IMO the only way the insurance co's could find out is if they filmed you for a year and you drove the car 365 days of that year and your parents...
I nearly commited to buying a 172 a few weeks ago and im only 18... but decided to wait. The risk of getting caught without proper insurance isnt worth it IMO and the way I see it I would have to downgrade to some crappy 1.2 in a few years time to start my NCB anyway... so ive decided to stick...
For I.A.M try http://www.iamfleet.com/, you may have to email them for some specifics though. When my dad did it there was a set amount of about £80/£85 for lessons and test and I think you take it in your own car. Bear in mind it is a charitable organisation so i think they expect a annual...
hmmmm i think ive started a bit of a debate here. Thanks a lot for all your comments. I can appreciate why people opt for a 106 (handling etc) but personaly safety is important and tbh there isnt much meat to a 106, and I dont want to be in a load of s*** if my insurance dont cover me because im...
cool thanks. already have my pass plus, started the day i passed my test, and i was taught by my dad (IAM, skid pan instructor) so he's making me do my IAM asap aswell. Dont like to think of myself as a typical 18 yr old boy racer. To be honest they do my bloody head!
Thanks a lot for the comments... if the insurance is reasonable (ish) then i mite as well go for it. I cant really see the point in starting my own NCB yet anyway, i would be paying over £2000 in my crappy fiesta so i think i'll go as a named driver on my 'dads clio' if im paying the same sort...
thanks i'l give them a try. If i do get quotes around £150 i will be definately getting one asap and my plans are as follows:
Mk2 172 in flame red (have to get the car first)
16" 182 cup alloys (in anthracite with 205/45 tyres)
twin 3" exhaust (need to research this one)
and i like my music so...
£150 month for a cup. Sounds grand! and £2000 doesnt sound to bad either. I was quoted about £2600 for my fiesta not too long ago, so i'll be happy paying that? what insurance companies would you recommend?
Hi everyone. Ive just become a member as I'm thinking of getting a 172. Currently i drive either my mini 998cc or a Mk4 fiesta (long story). However starting full time work soon and want a proper car, a 172. Ive looked at a few and decided on a Mk2 and would be able to afford it, but the only...
