Amazing work Tom. You know what I think of it ;)

88mpg is ridiculously good, that is way over double what I get lol

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

agreed the best ones by far my van is on 193k still has original injectors/pump/egr valve.

This had an EGR under warranty in the first year but other than that (touch wood) has been spot on. I'm hoping to keep this and run it into the ground. Target is the 428,000 mile clio that has popped up on here recently!

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

Just had a weekend away at Goodwood, cracking weekend although no pics of the DCI, you'll be pleased to know we averaged 90mpg with a full car load!!!

Airbag light is now on, which I'm hoping is the usual seat connections. Got the car booked in on Saturday morning to check this out.

Also another 10,000 miles on the clock since the service so an oil and filter change is in order :D

Hoping to give the car a good details / machine polish at the weekend too, will update with pics soon :)

That's a good three times what I get!

Looks ace mate - congrats!

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

I find it hard to believe you get 90mpg, yeah downhill just letting it roll. My 100 does 50-55 when heavy footed and 65-70 when tickling it. A little bit better now it's remapped.

Trust me it did average 90mpg! Steady driving 55-60mph from Goodwood to Cambridge. Did 170 miles on 1 bar of fuel plus a bit of red light!

Hey Tom car looks great, when you bought the sport bumpers did you keep the original wings or replace them with sport ones aswell?

The front bumper and wings are a direct replacement for the standard items, although I will say the wheels do look lost in the arches without spacers or widetrack conversion.

Do you have a sport grille already??

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

So it turns out the airbag light was on due to a faulty rotary switch :( £100 later and the light is now extinguished :) suppose I can't complain as this is the first fault in 25000 miles :D

Carried out an oil/filter change & health check and all is now OK :D

FUTURE PLANS:

  • Carbon wrapping to various items (fog surrounds, front and rear diamonds, mirror backings, front splitter, rear bumper insert, dash strips)
  • Black sueding to the roof lining and A/B/C pillars
  • Spraying upper and lower grilles gloss black
  • Cup spoiler
  • Dent removal and paint correction

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

Not gloss :( Always looks a bit too 'try hard' IMO

Maybe 'satin' will be a better option. Could have sworn I saw a clio in the media section the other day with gloss grilles and it looked quite smart. Did my old 182 grilles with satin and that looked good though.

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

Carbon wrap arrived today so thought I'd give it a try on a few parts.

As I have never done anything like this before I though the pieces came out alright!!

Rear Diamond

Want to get a shiny finish to the pieces. I tried some Halfords laquer I had in the shed but the finish was crap. Would a professional bodyshop be able to keep the same effect but give a shiny finish?? (I hope that makes sense!)

Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep

Thought I'd give another quick update:

Carbon wrapped fog light surrounds
Painted upper and lower grilles satin black
Fitted sport interior, although now the airbag light is on! Looks like I need to swap a sensor over from the old seats.
Carbon wrapped seat handles and door handles

Also clocked over 100k on Wednesday

Will update with pictures soon :)
