Here are a few possibles from me...I have an excellent photo of a spider eating a butterfly from this week but cant find it...aargh!! The first and last are taken with my fixed 50mm f.8 lens, and the middle three are with the 70-200mm L series lens...

Opinions welcome...

Nope. Just a levels tweak and i shoot in RAW.

just looks like background has been blurred thats all, great results then if not

That's what I've been trying to tell people! You don't need a fancy lens when you can get results like that with most lenses.

Really good result Gaz what settings on the D40 if you don't mind my asking?

Aperture priority mode, 55mm @ f5.6, ISO 200 off the top of my head. Always shoot in RAW too.

When you load up RAW images - what do you use to view & edit them?

Preview on Mac can view them, I edit them in either Photoshop CS4 or Lightroom.
