Fiesta out, Impreza in & still not another Clio as yet.....

  182 Cup & DCi 172
Plans sound good bud, I may look at the SC42 but I don't want to much lag.

I've been told that the SC38 is perfect for a road car, we shall see.

38 is a great, responsive turbo for around 360-380bhp. That's what I was told by Scoobyclinic anyway haha

That's the thing that's bugging me. Everyone says how awesome they are, but will it be as fun and feel as special as the s15?!

Ooh, hard decision. Will be completely different but depends if you enjoy the sliding notions of your car haha

Well got a lot sorted ready for next year:

6 point safety devices rollcage modified for double diagonal and harness bars added
New 4 point sparco harnesses fitted with spreader plates
Larger fire extinguisher added
TRS helmet net
Changed horrible orange side stickers for blue/white versions

Hoping Santa brings some more goodies so there is just the power to increase and seats to replace when funds allow.

Been some random weather so has delayed some work but other days have been superb:

I assume you get on well with the neighbours lol

This was at my parents not my place haha
The R27 clio and Fiesta ST are the neighbours. Mine is the STI impreza, brother has the R26 Megane, parents have the Wrx and a mate has the Seat.

We had been out for a boost out and the cars were disgusting

Beautiful mate! reminds me of my old 1, good to see another being used what it was designed for ragging around a track! do handle very well once you put, ARB's ALK, Coilovers, Barces and some LCA

DCCD blob model best of the best IMO, Will never make a better car! Similar Reg also :D

Perfect 2 car combo right there haha. If I had known how far I was going with the Impreza I would have bought a Spec C so had the lightweight parts, better steering and smaller tank, cant complain though this car should do me proud.

Very similar reg as well haha

Well got even more done so am quite happy. Used the car everyday over the Festive break and never missed a beat.

Santa (Girlfriend) brought me a genuine Spec C roof vent kit and Killer B windage tray for the sump:

So on the morning of Boxing day I got the dremel out and cut the roof for the vent ;) the Girlfriend lent assistance even though she looked concerned haha

Great work bud, scary s**t cutting the roof.

The vents work really well, surprise how much air come through. I keep mine closed above 40 mph as my mate's one had the plastic clip break, the flap went back and dented the roof.

I love jobs like this hahaha - think my Girlfriend was more worried than me. Had mine open upto 60mph and seems ok - only got it for track where its varied speeds and not sustained high speeds.

Hoping it will be ok

Car is now fuelled up and sat waiting to go in for the fuel injectors (820cc) then mapping this Friday so fitted up my new stickers:

Also got the citroen mist washers fitted and started working out the front tow point:

View attachment DSC_1681_zpswkfrnv7u.jpg

Then had the car mapped at Evotune last Friday and the map is superb. Made 371bhp and same torque so clutch is still perfect.
Didn't use the 800cc injectors in the end so will be selling them on now.

Got a pair of bucket seats to sort then will be looking for a different turbo as the one fitted now isn't perfect but delivers what I wanted for the time being. Looking at a MD321, sc40 or sc42 then remap again.

I wouldn't buy a turbo from SC mate.
I'm going to give Alyn @AS performance a call when I'm ready.

Cracking work mate, car looks great. [emoji41]

OK cheers mate, mines got some kind of padle set up which doesn't allow me to launch the car off the line.

I have to pull away at 1500 rpm then I can get the power down.
Mine also rattles/chatters on idle.

When Rich was mapping it he said I'd need to replace the flywheel as well because the clutch may of damaged the lightened flywheel.

Just trying to decide on what kit to buy, was going to buy the AP clutch kit but I have been told it's the same as what you have but twice the price.

Mine launches fine at 6500-7000rpm haha.
Does smoke slightly when doing so though....

Looks bloody quick that bud.

What would you go for next?
I tried at 4k, it was bloody shocking and it still wanted to stall.

I don't bother trying anymore. [emoji23]

That was in high 4's to 60, got it timed at 4.5 0-60 at full weight and 333bhp.

Now alot lighter and 371bhp. I am also alot lighter hahaha

Next what matey??

That video looks like it's on fast forward lol

I know it's not

No fast forward haha. Will do an updated video soon when conditions improve.

Where to begin with an update??

Well a few happy updates.....
Seats are here and fully installed in fixed positions - love them!
Also knocked up a pair of rear door cards as a temp measure - don't look to horrific haha
DSC_1877_zpscnt9vwhs.jpg

DSC_1901_zpshwnvwmlq.jpg

DSC_1894_zpssvrgsqif.jpg

Also had to replace yet another splitter as smashed it again hahaha
DSC_1897_zps9ec789hu.jpg

Quick list of jobs to do.....
- Exhaust leak to fix on uppipe
- 2 new front tyres to fit
- New Motul RBF600 brake fluid to changeover

Well had my first race and got 5th in class and 29th out of 70.

DW7E2735_zpsdsdtvtpr.jpg

DW7E3483_zpsvl73iamx.jpg

DW7E4048_zpsstvqbgel.jpg

Since then have been sorting a few more things......
10kg more removed including undertray, rear door crash bars, alternator cover, various brackets. Still loads more to come off haha.
Also fitted the lighter non aircon alternator bracket and a new CDF racing aux belt.

Hopefully can get plenty more done soon

Well I had a trackday booked for May 16th to learn the track for my next sprint event.
However the Impreza cried off haha - flat battery meant expense for the new one. Sorted this then expansion bottle cap blew off emptying coolant all over the engine bay, since then a slight squealing noise was present in the timing belt/water pump area.
So after ruling out headgasket issues the following has been completed:
- Alloy radiator
- Mishimoto ancillary hose kit
- Forge header tank
- Expansion bottle from the fmic kit I have
- STi header tank cap
- Timing belt kit with Gates belt
- CDF Racing belt guide
- Water pump
- Thermostat
- Millers coolant
- Water Wetter

DSC_2290_zpsjf5yr0uz.jpg

My partner, Lisa, got me some Depo 60mm gauges and my brother a 14" curved racing mirror for my birthday which I promptly fitted:

DSC_2325_zpsj4k4xiqr.jpg

DSC_2363_zpshlmj8cer.jpg

DSC_2362_zps7jirtab6.jpg

The water pump had been the cause of the rough running and issues - bearing was seizing up and locking completely causing idle to drop to 400rpm.
DSC_2384_zpsludesxsd.jpg

So had plenty boosting about and the car is now perfect!

DSC_2381_zpsm4lyg5g7.jpg

Now for the fun part - the trackday I mentioned was still completed but in my Ovlov Diseasal boost bus.......

Abit of update again......

  182 Cup & DCi 172
After having all the issues with the car sorted I managed to make my Croft race......
Finished third in class with 11th out of 67 overall which I was very happy with, the car is around 320-330bhp at a guess due to the turbo problems so I was around half the power of the Evo that came ahead 0.7 seconds of me so was exceptionally happy haha.
Wheel alignment still hasnt been touched in 18 months so shows the car still has even more potential.

The car is going to finally get the power and upgrades it deserves so I am moving back down to 17" alloys.....
Got these M06 cheap so did a DIY refurb and got some new blue genuine alloy centre caps....... just keeping my eye out for some cheap track rubber.
DSC_2521_zpsyqzm5tvf.jpg

DSC_4599_zpsqa3vjyhp.jpg

DSC_4600_zps5ueqj4f7.jpg

Also got an SC42 on order to go along with my Japspeed FMIC, Harvey Smith trick uppipe, Perrin 4 bar map sensor, swirl pot and 820 injectors.

As well as these bits the Clutch has decided it doesn't like working so an ACT Extreme 6 puck is being sourced

Well the car has the compomotives on for road and Superleggeras for the sprints I do....

I actually ordered the SC42 but after waiting a month nothing turned up from USA to Scoobyclinic let alone to me.

Got me concerned that if I did have any problems with the 42 it could take months to sort.

Got a 2 year warranty on the MDX321T and it's the upgraded Motorsport spec

So what kind of power are you hoping to make bud, what boost will it run?

I wanted a new turbo for mine but don't want to run a FMIC so im limted. Im going to buy a new VF34 and TD billet it, that ill do for me.
I was told that you should only run 1.5 bar on standard head studs anyway.

Awesome built thread and some seriously cool photos too!

I'm a huge fan of Scoobies and love seeing threads like these going from strength to strength with no expense spared!

All the best with it

Aiming for 420-440bhp at 1.5-1.6bar. Don't want to push for more as it's still standard internals.

You not want a VF35 with billet wheel - response is superb then with scope for 380-390bhp
