Looking in the daylight it appeared the clip wasn't holding the pipe on as the clip was too far down the pipe - you could see the indentation in the pipe where it had been sitting.
I put the pipe back on, filled with coolant, bled the system and all seems to be working fine!
Could anyone who's...
Hi All,
Driving along in traffic last night and noticed temp guauge very high. Pulled over and found the car leaking coolant and the radiator stone cold.
Turns out the pipe has come away from what I assume is the water pump (pipe under oil filter) - it looks like over time the metal clip...
It will be the thermostat - my 172 was doing it until Rentech put a new one in the Saturday just gone.
Before the new stat it sat 2 lines below where it does now until you sat in traffic or gave it some. Now once it's warm it just stays at the same temp - just as it did when it was new..
Erm, might be me being stupid or reading the diagram wrong - but the IP addresses on the phone systems in site A and site B are the same?? 192.168.1.190 ?
I realise that this *shouldn't* cause a problem if you address them by the WAN IP's and then it's NAT'd to the boxes, but if the proprietry...
Microsoft did a shutdown tool which was in one of the resource kits.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317371
Not sure where to download it from though.
And for startup you could try Wake on lan provided the machines are fairly recent.
Have a look at...
Mine did this as well. Took off the throttle body & cleaned it with some carb cleaner put it back on and all ok. I think the buterfly got stuck on the muck and oil from the breather that had got in there. I would have a look as it's alot cheaper than a new body!
Clio Spares will be able to help I would have thought :- http://www.cliospares.co.uk/
Had a similar thing done to my 172 and they were able to sort me a used replacement.
Mine does roughly same thing - when I first got the car ( around 5 years ago now! ) it would stay just above the middle no matter what ( cold/hot/rain/shine! ). Now it generally runs around 2 lines down unless I am sitting in traffic in which case it goes up to the mark it used to go to and then...
It's a plastic type burning smell - I didn't think there is much plastic in an alternator?
After checking further the smell seems to be coming from the pulley side - it looks like the sound proofing is very close to the pulley on the engine so much so that it could be rubbing...
I have a plastic burning smell coming from around the alternator of my 172.
It starts making the smell almost straight away - it's doesn't smell round the back of the engine as at first I thought it might be a plastic bag stuck to the exhaust..
The aux belt looks in good condition - it was...
More washer problems!
My front washers work intermittently, when they do work they seem to pulse.
The rear washers don't work unless the front of the car is higher than the back.
The headlight washers don't work at all.
All of the above seemed to have started after I got the car back...
Following on from http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=336429
The garage called me today and told me the car was ready to pick up. I went round to get it and noticed that the colour match between the new rear bumper and the rest of the car was a bit off - the bumper seemed to be a...
Gutted...
Someone went into the back of me a couple of days ago. Just had a good look and realised it's damaged the bottom of the boot.
The other drivers insurance has agreed it's his fault so it's all paid for but I wanted to know the extent of the damage.
Attached some pics of the...
I've just rung a couple of places to get a quote for 2 new tyres and have been told these are in shortage.
One place called Michelin and was told they have no stock and they won't be available for a while.
Anyone know where I can get some at a decent price in or around Surrey?
I could...
Mine seemed to be leaking from the top - there is a metal pipe that goes into the top and it looked like the seal had broken.
You have to take the airbox out to have a look..
If it's under warranty get it back to Renault.. Just make sure it's not a stone that's damaged it as they won't do it...
There is a metal cylinder attached to the AC Rad which is in front of the normal coolant rad.
BMH.01 - you cannot see it in your pics - you have to look under the car...
Sounds like aircon fluid to me..
I had a sort of similar problem - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=213523
In my case it turned out to be the aircon rad leaking - which if it wasn't for mike @ rentech would have cost me the best part of £500 to sort...
I'm pretty useless when it comes to chip repair - but then maybe it's because I never take my time!
Are they that bad then Partick?
I think I'll probably use the body shop then.. I just want it done right and although it's small it bugs me - especially as it wasn't my fault!
I'll also...
Got a couple of chips on my back bumper caused by someone going into me.
Had a quote from the insurance recommended repairer and they want to take off the bumper, take it down to the primer and then respray.
It's all going to be paid for by the other guy's insurance - but my concerns are...
Right, I've taken off the airfilter box and had a look down.
It looks to me like oil leaking from the condenser - there is no oil anywhere else locally to the condenser. If it was engine oil or gearbox oil it would have to be sprayed onto it and it would make mess all over the place.
My...
Had the throttle body changed by Rentech, but that's all.
Looked round the engine and doesn't *seem* to be coming from anywhere around the top of the engine - I guess I'll have to remove the airfilter box and have a look down..
Can anyone tell me what this is?
It's on the passenger side of the radiator - under the airbox on my Mk2 172.
I realise that it might not be leaking itself - so can anyone tell me what the liquid is and where it's likely to be coming from?
Cheers,
Andrew
Mines started doing this as well - has anyone found a fix?
I assumed the mechanical thermometer that controls the flow of coolant to the radiator was starting to fail, but after reading these posts I am not so sure?
Has anyone done this?
My father has bought one of those cans from Halfrauds and hasn't used it all.
It's got a gauge on it to tell you how full the system currently is.
When I look at my 172's system I see 2 different caps on the ac line - which one do I connect it to?
B & Q warehouse ( Or I think that's what they are called ) sell cat5 cable for permanent installation - they sell the cable on a roll and the sockets for mounting on the wall.
When the climate control is off in my 172 I can feel a draft of cold air in the drivers footwell - I thought it was my imagination at first, but going along at 60 and popping my hand just under the dash you can feel the cold air!
Does anyone else have this? - I am guessing a grommet is not...
