I need to fill the washer bottle, and want to change the front disks/pads. Martins of Basingstoke, are hardly likely to fix something for me for free. They are likely to charge me for a new cable/catch/pulley/2hrs work.

tried them. also tried pushing and pulling the bonnet while wife pulled the release lever.

Yup Vinny, When I pull the lever by the passenger foot well. There is no click, the bonnet doesn't rise slightly.

The pull is OK, but it isn't releasing the bonnet. I am guessing I will need to go in from the front. Is it best to cut the grille on the left or right side, to get the bonnet open? Any hints?

Is it dependent on wether the AC is on/off or does it happen when just the fan is operational? On my old 1.4rt, I used to have a squeal from the engine bay when doing over 60, with the air fan on. I think that was a loost spindle on the fan. Yours sounds a little more baffaling than that.

The IK looks a little funy, since it is a very flat cone. When it is on the engine, it looks like a man with a very small hat on. It is also at the top of the bonnet, where all the hot air is, so it doesn't make it that efficient. Doesn't make much of a difference in noise either. If you...

It will be a single point injection unit, that does the work of a carb, but is more efficient.

yup, Had to replace the passenger side washer, and the driver side one is now leaking. Fitted the passenger side one myself. Undid the bumper fastenings, wiggled my arm in, undid the old one, and plumbed the new one in. Closest I've come to being a vet.

Paint the RENAULTsport lettering (& stripes) on the top of the manfold. Did mine with some caliper paint. looks quite good. (Never got round to painting the calipers though)

I managed to squeeze my arm up to the back of the washer via the front wheel arch. Bit tight though. No one seems to make an alternative yet. Your washer bottle will split next.

I got the whole unit from renault basingstoke. I havent managed to fit it yet though. Got a leak in my washer tank too, but not sure if it is the usual split bottle, or a rubber seal. They only cost about £7 from renault, but the balls are hard to get out...unlike the original ones that...

Cant tell weather you mean another car as a second car, or a replacement for your current one. If it is a second car, then 5k will get you a decent kit car for the summer. look at e-bay or findit, or look at some of the kit car mags for ones for sale.

Seen some "spin caps" on e-bay. Look difficult to get off.

Arent clio clutches heavy anyway? Mine always have been.
