I think it looks fantastic without the side skirts ect. So potentially, it will be similar to the one above, in just having the front bumper!

Also, this weekend I went to the Classic Car show at the NEC, while I was there I decided to join the BMW Car Club of Great Britain.

Membership is £40, but hopefully the discounts through specialists should recover that pretty quickly :)

I doubt they will be too thrilled with my plans to go "low", seeing as they're very much the restoration to OEM type, but I doubt I will have much of a "project thread" with them anyway.

Still weighing up if I should buy a welder and do the work myself, or send it off to be welded. I need to add up all the bits that need doing, and work out which will be the most cost effective.

Anyway, the purchase was: Coilovers :D

GAZ Golds to be precise. Very few manufacturers make coilover units for the E21/E30, and fewer still are sold in the UK, GAZ are pretty much the only option, and despite their poor rating on here, they are highly regarded on the BMW forums.

Also included in the sale are some RPM Camber and Castor Adjustable topmounts.

They're a great price, and as per the bodykit, I couldn't let these go as they would've been snapped up within hours.

Typical that expensive bits come up for sale, just when I need to be focusing on other things!

There's no rush on the final build, so if it takes a little longer to finish, then so be it.
 
Just costed up how much those GAZ Golds and topmounts would have come to, had I gone for them new.

The struts have to be 323i ones, as the coilovers are too big for 316 ones, so I would have needed donor parts, potentially from Germany.

It all came to £1480, not including overseas postage for the struts, or UK postage for the coilovers. Including postage, I bet it would have been getting on for £1600.

The ones I've bought seem like one hell of a bargain to me now!

Yeah I'm going to look into banded steels, they certainly haven't been discarded!

I just can't warrant £2k+ on some wheels, no matter how nice they are!

The banded steels look brilliant tbh, they would need to be exactly the same as my current ones for it to work (obviously not 13's though!)

Anyone know if you can have banded steels with a chrome/polished lip, and silver painted centres?
