[PC] Diablo 3

  LY 220 Trophy+IB PH1
Wait 'till you get to Belial! I had to buy some serious equipment from the Auction House to smash her, still took me a good 6-7 tries!

I got stuck on him on nightmare for a while but oddly not on Hell lol Im fully expecting him to be a hoot on inferno.

Has anyone been to the Secret Pony world yet?

Skeleton king mate. You've barely scratched the surface.

^^ Subsequent patches made it much better than the original release. But I am not sure I will buy into the expansion coming.

I am like 18 months late to the party, but I finally bought Diablo 3. It's quite fun. I think I'm on Act II

One of the few games that my girlfriend would actually play - lol. We completed it in co-op just on Normal difficulty, but have actually thought about restarting it with different character classes on a harder difficulty.

A good game - definitely suits the console platform in co-op too.

I'm playing it on Normal as a Barbarian. It's pretty easy at times, but I like it for the mindless smashing. Think I've died twice, and that's because I wasn't paying attention. I'm on Act III now, think I'm level 25.

Can you level up to 60 on one playthrough on normal?

Nope. Well, we got nowhere near that by the end anyway. I think we finished the game at around lvl 26 each. Never even came across one of the set pieces of equipment - which are coloured green, from what I believe? In fact, we only got a few orange ones, tbh.

I actually found it better on the 360 - assuming I could see past the screen tearing and other graphical limitations. The PC version is too zoomed in - I keep wanting to scroll the mouse wheel back to get a wider view! :)

So err I hadn't played this since 2014.. decided to pick up Reaper of Souls and see if it could get my interest. Think I've done 30 hours since Saturday. Woops. Anyone still play?

It worth it? My mate has been playing it loads lately (on Xbox One) and I'm tempted. £20 on Amazon

Only ever played this on Hardcore mode and when I left it a year or two back, I had a stable of 5/6 high level characters.

Bit scared to go back now in case I get them all killed.

(Back to Overwatch it is then...)

So yeah, having bought this on the day of release (and having picked up again on this thread) I finally unwrapped the game last night and installed it. A quick half an hour introductory play last night became 3-4 hours. Oops.

Ended up buying the new Necromancer expansion yesterday - mainly due to it being the best class in Diablo 2 and it's the class I pick on any fantasy/RPG type game.

Even better is the wife wants to play this through again as we never completed the RoS expansion. Time to hook it up to the TV I reckon and start afresh.
I know it's console, but I'm tempted to give this a go, the full pack is £39.99 on Xbox Live - possibly cheaper on Amazon (haven't looked).

What a pisser. Rant warning.

So I get the Steam Link up and running with Diablo 3 on the TV - very easy and surprisingly fuss-free given that I'm streaming a Blizzard game though the Steam front end.

Pick up the XBox One pad that's connected - nothing. All I get is a mouse pointer on the TV. Several bits of Googling later - it turns out that Blizzard have made a massive distinction between the PC and console versions of this game.

The PC version does not offer local co-op play. The PC version also does not support any game pad. WTAF? Looking on Blizzard's own forums, they have several threads complaining about the lack of both features - neither I get the impression they are willing to address.

I can (to an extent) understand the complexities of local co-op - though games like Sacred and Divinity handle it ok - not forgetting D3 does this on the consoles to begin with. What I can't get my head around is the lack of pad support. A well established controller profile with 2-axis and 6 buttons? Yep - that will give the development might of Blizzard some serious headaches to work out.

So with the PC version, you point and click with a mouse - or join randomers online. Diablo 3 does not lend itself in anyway to casual online play - it's far, far better to be mutually supporting and working towards completing the objectives together. How many of us have played online with woefully bad players who just make the whole experience crap? Oh - but you can do local LAN play. Ah - so I get two PCs, two monitors and two copies of the game - just so I can play in co-op that a PlayStation or XBox can do for a fraction of the price?

How far have people got with this, playing it solo?

I recall in co-op on the 360 that there many parts where I'd have to retreat or end up dying. Having started as the necromancer on the PC again, I left it to the default Normal difficulty.

Having not died once, I upped it to Hard. I still haven't died and have taken on two sub-bosses already. I'm not even getting close to dying either with the necromancer class having so many options to grant life back to him and haven't yet used one health potion.

I'm going to have to up the difficulty again. I just don't want to get to that difficulty stage where I have one life for the entire duration of the game. Die once and your previous 20 hours need redoing? Sod that.
