Can confirm its amazing, difficult! But amazing.

Got a section hooked up right in the escort preview event and managed to be a second ahead of the field, felt like a god. Next corner I gave it slightly to much throttle and lost about 20 seconds having to shift down to reverse turn round and then back up again. Harsh game

Yeah can set the gearbox to loads of different settings, automatic included.

I need to set my pace notes to come a little earlier as that will help but I'm still 2 minutes of the pace I think.

Seeing as it'll take me at least another year to download this sodding update, can someone confirm for me whether you can drive the S1600 cars on rally stages and not just rallycross?

Can't wait for the game. Looks pretty tough as mentioned. Been ages since I've played a rally game. I used to be great on Colin McRae but this is a fair distance from that lol

FFS they were the JWRC cars, they spent about 90% of their life on stages, not circuits.

First few hours done and ive got to say im very impressed. Theyve got the physics and actual feel of a rally car on gravel,ice etc. spot on....i love that its a hard challenge straight away,with one mistake and youve ruined the stage. Will give me a great sense of acheivement when i have a clean run!

The handling isnt as difficult as i thought it would be which is a good thing,its very playable but obviouly will take ages to master - taking hairpins with the hanbrake is an artform in its self!

Graphics are fantastic,smooth and hardly any pop-up,plus the landscape around you is really well detailed - looking at the overhead camera in Wales you can previous sections of tracks youve already been on in the distance and its just really good attention to detail. As ever CM really excel when it comes to lighting...the snow in Monte Carlo looks very realistic.

The wales rally is a magnificent setting,this could be in many parts of the UK,going through forests,fields,up on the hills next to the windfarm...very realistic looking.

And finally the sound is really well done,co-driver sounds good and the all the grit and stones under the car is very life like....the mini sounds just like youd expect a 1960s tinny rally car would!

It's a shame really because in the original 'dirt' you could use those same S1600 cars as normal rally cars!

Either way this is bloody awesome! Currently doing a 60's championship in my little Lancia Fulvia. She's a peach!

And if you have a set of turtle beaches or similar, stick them on lol! Makes a huge difference.

I gave it a quick go on Saturday night with the controller, Was ok but not blown away.


Spent most of Sunday playing it with my TX wheel, What a difference! Proper mega game, One of the most enjoyable driving games I've played in a long time. Hard work though but so rewarding when you nail a whole Stage

New content's OK, the A110 sounds epic but is a bit of a nightmare, the R5 drives epic and the S1600s drive OK, but I'd prefer to be rallying them. Not tried the new PP yet, but the new menus are pretty good to gawp at.

Ah ok. I'm only the second rally now currently third. How does everyone else get on

My first championship in the Fulvia i came 4th and 3+ mins off the pace.

Currently in the Lancia 037 in 5th and 6+mins off the pace

I'm on event two of 6 and third, 1 minute off first. Bloody hard lol

So came second in the first stage and third in the second. Pesky minis lol.

On 33 points

Did really well on event 3 of the 1960's. Came first overall 40 seconds ahead of second

Stage 4 full 360 carried on, got a nailed it reward and ended up coming second still.

After four events I am top with 76 points

Just finished Greek Rally in the 037, 5th overall, 6.20 off the pace.

Time to try Rallycross.
