Dingers CSCC Tin Top Build

  Clio.
I think the AST bends more than cast iron.....
Best of luck with the rebuild, I hate seeing bent and broken racecars.

Nice one mate, really hope to see this at Rockingham. So glad the ASTs are ok.

Thats strange how the hub mount snapped!

I'm assuming because if the sudden impact and the hub being cast which is brittle that failed befor bending anything. Also where it took the hit was a bit like sticking the end of a broom stick between two bricks, not much force would snap it.

Was the broken off part of the hub still attached with bolt and nut or is it missing?

Yes Pete, the two parts were still present and the cheap and nasty Eibach camber bolt is still straight.

Brilliant dave. X

Listen, If I miss the first race I might as well miss all of them! and I dont give up that easy, lol, It could mean that the throttle bodies and ecu have to wait till the end of the season but atleast I'm back out on the grid.

Would have taken me years to get time to get rid of it all :p Half of the s**t in the car was from the previous owner, I always thought I'd be scrapping the shell so never worried about it lol

I didn't realise it was as short as that!

Hopefully it goes smoothly!

So we had a night off last night but got some more done this afternoon and eve, All the interior is now finished with just a couple of little electric jobs to do once the engine is in, The engine still needs its cambelt replaced so waiting for my mate to do that job,
Then its engine/gearbox in and build up the front suspension, Bleed brakes and off for corner weighting and geometry.

Roll on next week when its finished,

Excellent progress, well done.

Good call on leaving the heater in as well. I had a track car a few years ago that we removed the heater from, we did a trackday in November and it rained all day. The windscreen was so misted up we just couldn't see to drive and had to go home.

Mate came round to do the cambelt and help with some other bits, The car is now running! Jobs to do list is getting smaller

Vinyl wrap bonnet, tailgate and roof
