Oh I see, I did think that s/c looked in good condition

was the old one not repairable then?

Rotrex official line is that their chargers arent rebuildable and everytime you have an issue with them you have to bin it and buy a new one, but Dan did say he knows of a company stateside that will repair them anyway.

Its the lack of a rebuild at sensible costs that puts me off them compared to a turbo TBH, they are great when they are working but if you end up having to pay best part of a couple of K for a replacement its going to be painful.

Sounds like a terrible way to do business.

Depends on the logistics of rebuilding and how reliably they can do so and how much cost is actually involved in doing so compared to supply a new unit, not everything in life makes sense to rebuild.

If you had a pint glass and it failed you would just replace it etc.

So it might be more a case of a non suitable design for rebuilding than bad business strategy to not rebuild.

Well had a slow day today waiting for parts to arrive etc.

So started removing the kit from the car and prepping it to go into mine.

Old super charger mocking up (mainly as I've no idea how it came apart as I got it in a box of bits!)

And a little experiment, not sure on it as yet, will see how it is behind the bumper.

So quick update, the engine decided to become an oil pump, and emptied the sump into the catch can/out of the exhaust in 5 miles. Queue the impromptu engine change... At mid day on Tuesday.

Old..
