look like illegal plates to me, as they are missing the BS AU number, ebay specials?

Few updates as the car approaches the 45k point! Still going strong *touch wood*

Anyhow, when i had a Spring snap i bought some Sachs lowering springs from ECP and in short were awful once they had bedded in.

I bit the bullet and bought some like for like Eibach Pro-Kit Springs.

Promptly fitted and all is well now, drives like it supposed to do now so happy in that respect.

Along with a few week back it went into the Bodyshop to have a few issues sorted out due to some mindless vandalism.

Obviously can’t really tell from the pictures but it’s looking great again now, and just last week had a new set of Continental Sport Contact 5’s put on the front. Expensive few months for sure! And I’ll be honest i was pretty close to getting shut with a Mk8 Fiesta ST my likely car in question but I’am glad stuck with it. I still need the Alloys refurbished and powdercoated then I’am pretty confident it’ll be one of the best Nurburgrings out there as most are sheds unfortunately.

Cheers :)

Thought i’d give this an update. I still think this is one of the best forums out there, it’s still so active, with so much variations of motors.

I still pine for a 1*2 of some sort. Anyways.

At the back end of last year i finally got around to fitting the Remus replica centre pipe, so it sounds like it should have done from the factory. Reminds me of the JCW Mini’s.

Not my car but it gives you an idea. Fits my OEM criteria to a tee.

Next, in April some time it was service time again,

*Engine Oil & Filter
*Gearbox Oil
*Air Filter

Was done at 51913 miles to be precise. The car still runs and drives sweet as a nut.

A few weeks later i had to get some fresh tyres fitted to the front, now this is were i know i’ve skimped but money is super super tight as holiday and mortgage saving is in full swing and they’re not complete budgets..... ( i know, i know )

I opted for some Nankang NS-20’s supplied by Blackcircles and fitted by the local ATS, along with the Alignment as I had a feeling it was out, it was so that got seen to and if I’am honest the car drives fantastic. Probably the best it’s been since i had the Springs replaced. Feels like when i first picked it up.

Few pictures.

Now the the tyres are scrubbed in they’re pretty good. No Michelins that’s for sure, but they are certainly quieter than the Continentals and the few spirited drives i’ve had they grip just as well! I’ve not crashed yet.

I really like these! Quick little cars too. A local lad is selling a club sport with a rod through the block for £4k I was tempted to buy it and fix it and get the summer out it!

They’re pretty old school in the way it delivers its power, old school turbo engine, nothing much happens below 3.5k. The latest E VXR’s have completely changed mapping though.

I’ve upset quite a few bigger and much more powerful hot-hatches on paper, mainly the LSD dragging the front end out of corners a lot sooner. Which is fun.

Update time.

About a month or so back i was giving the engine bay it’s usual clean and i noticed that the Auxiliary Belt had a hole in the middle!

Not ideal, and as i knew it was due a Timing Belt/Cambelt anyways (MY11 was revised to 60k or 6 years) i decided to book it in for everything.

*Timing/Cambelt & Waterpump
*Aux Belt
*Coolant change

No pictures unfortunately but the original belt did show signs of fatigue so i can understand why VX changed to intervals from 100k or 10 years believe it or not to 60k or 6 years.

Also i had some new tyres fitted to the rear as the MPSS where shot.

Opted for the NS-20’s, the same that’s on the front.

Oh and a set of ARB Drop-Links where needed the day after a spirited drive along my local backroads.

Noticeable difference, steering feels a tad sharper now, and obviously no knocking!

It’s still a fine daily, 40-42mpg average between every fill up and still puts a smile on my face.

When i finally get some free money the Alloys will be getting refurbished. Oh and it’s passed it’s M.O.T with zero advisories again :)

Cheers :)

Thought I’d give this a update. Fairly overdue!

The car is fast approaching 68k now and is proving the be ever reliable. I serviced it last December. The usual Oil & Filter, ‘box Oil, Air Filter. Along with that i treated it to some new interior mats and new wiper blades.
