Decided not to fit the flocked dash in the end, tidied the loom up instead so dash will be for sale soon.

Cage went in, fitted a treat, subframes painted and fitted, 5/6 point mounts fitted. Hopefully get the last 2 harness mounting points in this week along with the seats and harnesses.

Removed the remaining heater and air con bits from under the scuttle panel. 5.6kg in total, left 2 big holes going into the cabin so I’ve order some alloy to make some blanks.

Sold my Megane pistons after reading about ringland problems, didn’t want to be doing everything twice so bit the bullet and ordered these. 9-5-1 83mm over size Wossner jobbies.

Returned my CG Motorsport clutch as it was on the limit of power/torque and wasn’t worth the risk, going with a 4 puck helix with race cover plate now. Both ECU’s being sent away to EFI for base maps next week, as I’m using the standard ECU with the AEM fuel controller I’m still limited to around 12psi boost Which should allow around 280hp.

Hoping to have engine out by next weekend so work can commence ?

Been having a think about mapping and turbos, think I’m going to sell my AEM and buy a ME221 stand alone as I’d really like to have boost by gear, going to get a slightly smaller turbo to, a GT2860RS. Won’t be for a while as there both £££’s And I still need a clutch kit ?.

Anyway ...

valves fitted.

Thermostat housing cleaned and painted, it’s things like this that are taking ages but will hopefully look smart when it’s done.

I reckon all those things will look really smart. What have you painted the thermostat housing with? Finish looks excellent.

Really cool build!

Cheers. It’s halfords own engine paint, found it to be the best of the high temperature aerosols.

Went to fit my steering rack bushes, whilst doing that I thought I’d clean the grease off the subframe .. resulted in subframe coming off, stripped to bare metal and repainted, rack off, cleaned up and painted, new powerflex bushes and finally fitted my cup wishbones.

After putting the head on I kept thinking I should have I bought some uprated valve springs, later that day a new set of cat cams valve springs came up for sale .. heads now coming back off to fit these. Also bought the worlds most expensive sump plug ?

Tidied up the engine bay and front arches, pulled the lines up against the bulkhead to allow clearance for the turbo and heat shield.
Thank

This is such a great looking build...

When you build the heater matrix blanking plates, you wouldn’t fancy making a couple for me would you?
I’d obviously pay for the privilege... I’m at a bit of a lost cause as to how to go about it as I’ve not got much in the way of tools and materials to do it...
No worries if not pal, I’ll figure something out... (I’ll wait to see yours for the idea?)

It’s looking like I’ll just cut a rectangle and put 4 holes in it ???

Let me know ??

I’ve already order the material for mine I’m afraid mate. The one in the engine bay you can keep the original and fit 2x30mm round grommets. I’ll take some pictures for you when I make the top ones.

That’s awesome. ?

What sealant did you use for the rocker cover?
And how did you get the head to look so clean?
