Mines a nautical blue, does give a pretty smart flake pop when freshly waxed.
Well mine were in a bit of a state when I bought them. Depending on the condition of the wheels it may work out a little cheaper because some of the worst kerbing needed filling. It may have helped that one of my...
Not really, to be honest I'm going to be selling it come August so to spend any more on her would be a litte pointless. Getting a bit tired of how gutless she feels after getting the chance to have a play in a friends 172, although the insurance is way too high for me in one of those. My first...
Re: What have you ordered?
So does that mean Finale will become their only QD? I've heard from a lot of people (most on DW) who say the protective qualities will be missed.
Soul provides 2 months protection & Touch Coat 3 months (well that's what PB says, although there is a thread with Tough...
Re: What have you ordered?
2 x 500ml Auto Finesse Glisten
1 x 1L Auto Finesse Citrus Power
Heard that AF are stopping selling Glisten on their online store at some point, if that means they are stopping production I want to be stocked up :)
Think I recall seeing someone spraying their steelies white, that was on a nautical blue model mind and they carried on the white theme with the badges/bullets. After lowering it didn't look too bad imo.
Obviously a set of alloys would be preferable but it all depends how much money you want to...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it looked a little like a cork block or something similar? Enough give to allow the paper to spread evenly over the paintwork but soft enough for minimal damage to the bodywork in the event you do go through the sanding paper.
I could be wrong too mind, I'd...
Aight, kind of a shi**y update. One way and another this winter has been tough on the Clio. Driving to work one morning after a hideously cold night on a very icy road some woman thought my car could do with a little modification to the bonnet, so she decided to shunt me into the back of a Ford...
There are a couple users on here who have done it before and from what I remember them saying it worked out as even more expensive to insure that than a 172. Each to his own but personally I wouldn't bother, k-tec racing offer the full conversion package for about £3k iirc if you want to look...
It is possible, but seriously for the amount it'll cost to convert then get it insured why not just buy a 172 which will be cheaper to insure in the first place?
Looks a lot better than the last time I visited this thread, you've finally toned down the orange!
Don't know whether you'd be interested but I've got a spare set of 16v bullets if you wanted to replace the 2.0 ones, had them knocking about since I bought them with the intention of spraying them.
If you're after a dual action then you can't go far wrong with the DAS6-Pro, they don't offer the same correcting ability as a rotary polisher but are safer to use for someone with little experience of polishers (that's not to say they are 100% fool proof mind!)
Linky...
As far as led number plate lights go simply have a search on eBay, most people get them over there because they're dirt cheap.
Not at my home pc at the moment so can't link you (don't tell my boss!) but I've bought them over eBay before and never had any problems with them whatsoever.
Re: What have you ordered?
Gone and splashed out another £90 at CYC, woops :o
Mostly microfibres and applicators to replace the ones I've already got which have been washed so much they've recently started to feel very coarse, hate to think what damage they're doing to the paint! Also gone for...
Out of curiosity how much do you charge per layer and hypothetically, if you had bought it with the sole intention of selling layers would you make enough money to cover the cost of it?Not that I'm considering the above, although I'd love to try it out the price is so high I couldn't ever afford it.
Bloody hell that looks nice. I know a lot of people think paying that much for a wax is craxy but imo judging by the final result it's worth every penny, now I need to get saving :)
I remember ClioToby using it in a similar way to Iron-X however he didn't think it was quite as effective, guess there's no replacement for the best!
I got decon gel when it was still being promoted as a wheel cleaner, can't remember how long ago that was now! Even though it was sold as a wheel...
I wasn't expecting it could be diluted, thought by diluting it it'd reduce it's ability to cling. Might give that a try. It works out a hell of a lot cheaper than the last product I tried, Wolfs Decon Gel. I loved that stuff but for a pre-mixed cleaner £10 for 1 litre is fairly expensive.
How...
Yeah I am, have read through Orchard's threads once or twice before but haven't been able to find it on the usual suspects i.e i4d, Elite, CYC, PB etc
Just checked the Brite Gel, might try that out. Can foresee the answer to this one but I'm going to ask anyway, I'm guessing that because it's in...
Gally can you point me in the direction I can get some of that Orchid wheel cleanse? Fancy trying something new, tried a quick search on the usual sights but can't find anything.
Used wonder wheels once and never again. Happened to get a little on the back of my hand (unbroken skin) whilst using it and it stung like a muthafukah.
How come smart wheels hasn't been mentioned? £20 for 5 litres, recommended minimum dilution to 1:5 vs Bilberry at £25 for 5 litres with the...
I've heard whispers from Rob at gtechniq that they may be considering a little bundle of products for a discounted price, lord knows how much it'd be though considering the products can be relatively expensive (dependant on how much you spend on wash gear usually) on their own.
Absolutely love valvers, if I were you I'd turn it into a project of your own instead of selling it on. Get it back up to scratch because to have them in decent condition is a rarity as most have fallen foul of rust or careless drivers.Get some pictures up!
+1
As for alloys play it safe, go for either 172/182 alloys if you want to change them.
After-market alloys can be tricky to get right, although there are some examples on here of non-sports with after market alloys that look brilliant a vast majority look gash imo.
I quite like the black seats there but...
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY GET THOSE STEELIES OFF AND GET IT SITTING ON SOMETHING A LITTLE SMARTER!
I genuinely love this thread. Considered buying myself a clio van some time ago, however I don't really need it and talked myself out of getting...
Thanks very much :) actually just snatched myself an RS grill so when that comes through that's next. Won't be updating this properly until the new year because until then I can't really afford the money for mods worthy of updating this thread. Bring on the new year... Coilovers, colour coding...
