Be interested to see the answer to this...I've always been quite surprised by the lack of 'box swapping in the CS community, seems as if most tracks you'd do well to hit 130mph, yet the Clio is geared to something like 151mph isn't it? (Engine power runs out at ~141mph)
Seems like these cars...
Think this might be my fave modded example of any 1*2 ever tbh, I particularly like the way that despite having had loads done the overall impression is actually fairly subtle.
Can't make up my mind whether to go down the cage route when I finally get another 182, it'll be my only drive and...
I had a Miltek with straight-thru centre section & decat, sounded awesome and had no problems whatsoever.
What ballache do people generally get from doing it?
Ahh right, I'd seen 220bhp quoted somewhere for the 1.6T but possibly not from anywhere official, I meant as an RS version btw, 'standard' being OEM RS version. Even at 197bhp, you can expect as much as 20%-25% from re mapping a turbo, which would leave you at a pretty nice 220bhp with a couple...
Why is this third company remaining nameless? Surely if you've had a bad experience with someone its better to share it and stop other forumers/club members from making the same mistake. Just a thought.
Before my 182 met its unfortunate demise (nearly taking me with it) I stuck a set of Hankook's on it, from the advice of this forum. I'd had P nero-zero's on before which were absolutely fantastic, but all 4 needed changing just after xmas, and the front Pirelli's had only lasted ~14 months...
haha only just seen this thread, when I crawled out of the passenger window I had a bit of a fright as the car had come to a stop on a walkbridge 20ft above the sea! Got away with cuts and bruises having had an epilleptic fit at the wheel, hit the accellerater instead of the break, head on into...
Not being funny, but have you accidentally turned it off? With the key half turned you twiddle the light switch until it bleeps to re-activate it.
If you knew this already then i apologize, but it caught me out a few days after I bought mine, embarrassingly enough.
Thanks for all the support guys all the best to each of you too, i'll attempt to upload some pictures of the car, which was described by the paramedic as 'a black saxo with 2 exhausts' after the accident which might give some idea of the state it was in!
Well this afternoon I was released from hospital following a really nasty crash in my pride and joy 'Jennifer', my Black Gold Full Fat 182.
On entering a 30 zone on the A55 which twists around the headland at Penmaenbach, I suffered an epilleptic fit (not having been previously diagnosed with...
Ran these for a year and they were absolutely fantastic, excellent grip dry & wet and you could really feel what they were doing and how close to the limit you were.
That said, the price difference between them and the Hankook's led me take the advise of many on here and give them a go, and...
Had my rear discs lathed the other day over at Northwest performance and I can really recommend it to anyone, £10 a corner and they are as good as new which is a hell of a saving compared to what a new set will set you back.
They were in a hell of a bad state and really have come out fantastic.
Had the Hankooks put on yesterday and on fairly leisurely driving so far (have given it some through one or two corners mind) they seem pretty good.
Had Pirelli P7000's on when I bought it which were really good and my last set were PNeroZero's which cost £125 each for 2 fronts (got caught...
My boss tracks an Ibiza all the time and he really rates the Yellowstuff over more expensive pads from a value for money standpoint. He says they feel a little 'wooden' but have great bite from cold, don't fade and last nearly as long as 2500's.
Im coming up to time to fix my standard brake...
Hi, the 182's just failed its MOT at ATS on an offside front ball joint and a nearside rear wheel bearing, they are quoting 120 bones to fix this tomorrow is this reasonable??
Need to decide within about 20 mins so if anyone can advise please let me know.
Had a really good time today, was nice to show the 1*2 a few decent roads for the first time in a while. Was good to meet everyone we'll have to do it again before long.
My favourite point was in the kebab shop in Blaenau when them welsh chaps weren't too pleased to see English people in...
Good thing about coming to the Bay via the A55 is that you get to go as fast as you dare down Rhuallt Hill tho, but it is a good 40 miles of boredom.
Im provisionally up for this, would be coming along the A55 from Llandudno tho so don't really fancy
If you're doing Betws my favourite is to...
Hey guys
Was just wondering what the best way of taking my standard 182 exhaust off is?
It is currently unnattached to the car but I can't get it past the rear beam. Is it a big job to drop the rear beam enough to give me the clearance I need? Or am I better off cutting the exhaust and...
Re: Is the ClioSport more efficient Fuel wise at higher revs?
I live just outside Llandudno mate, most of my driving is done on the A470/A5 late at night when I've got the road to myself.
If you reset the trip computer and then boot it through the gears from 1st you get sub 10mpg no...
Re: Is the ClioSport more efficient Fuel wise at higher revs?
I think if you let an engine labour then it is less efficient yes.
The RS Clio is obviously set up to rev quite high and may well be more efficient like that.
That said I rarely get my MPG above 20 apart from the odd motorway run...
I think some people ignore the fact that the future is smaller turbo engines, by the time the Clio 4 comes out, even F1 will be running Turbo'd 1.6's so you won't be seeing the f4r around for too much longer.
When you're paying £260 a year tax and getting low teens mpg any way of creating...
Excellent point, the machines we use at work for moulding bread and baps are over-worked on a consistent basis, they tend to fail pretty quickly after they are given the deep clean treatment.
Obviously this is a different case to a car engine but is applicable to machinery in general.
If a...
Washed it, claybarred it, machine polished it, blacked up all the plastics, shined the tyres, took about a bin bag's worth of rubbish out of it, leather treated and hoovered all inside, windows inside and out, changed the spark plugs (which took an age as I hadn't taken off the manifold before)...
