hi, does anyone know if i can install a renault 5 gt turbo into my existing 1.4 clio engine without an engine transplant? maybe id have to disconnect the injection and change to carburretor? anyone have any ideas? cheers, tom
hey, changing the front springs, but i cant seem to be able to remove the front shock! i took released the lower mount from the hub, and the nut from the top in the engine bay would not budge! so i cant be bothered to keep releasing the hub every time i attempt, so i just turn it from the top...
the socket size is 32mm. m10 thread, nut. did mine a couple weeks ago. the front struts are a bas*ard on mine. still trying do change the springs on the front! lol
is it just a case of taking off the rt wings and putting on the wider valver wing? no messing about with new spash guards or anything? also whats the difference between valver bumpe and rt bumper?
thanks,
tom
well ive done the torsion bar on my mk1 clio, got round to doing the front, and the bolt in the engine bay just will not loosen. im using a 21mm round spanner and an alan key to hold the piston rod still and sprayed penetrative oil over it and still it wont budge! the torsion bar was kids stuff...

well what can i say, lowering the rear end of my mk1 rt was a success! thanks for all the advice, all came in handy, slammed her about 55mm, and getting the bar out and back in was quite painless. just need to lower the front now!
one other thing though, what would i have to do to an rt to make...
right, was about to adjust my torsion bar today, but found that it was of the closed type- does that mean jacking up both hubs individually and the hammering the bar back in?? was sh*t scared that the bar wouldnt go back in and cause some sort of damage!! cheers for any advice guys
tom.
gonna do my torsion bar on my m1 rt this week. im clear on how to do it, but something has to go wrong doesnt it? like has anyone got the bar out and not been able to get it back in? what if this happens? cheers, tom
hi, im looking at getting some 3pt harnesses for my clio mk1, but does anyone know how they are fitted? any drilling needed? i see there are 2 points either side with some sort of bolt at each end, then one central point with like a clip? where does each part need to be fixed to? thanks guys, tom
dude if you call up gap security, theyll come out and fit a system of youre choice. theyll also rip out your existing standard alarm for around 20 quid. i had it done on my rt.
hey, thanks for all the inputs. i was thinking of doing that, but wouldnt the engine suck up all the rain water through the feed then? i fo agree, it would be a great cold air feed! probly the best location for it!
alright fellas, i have an rt with a valver bonnet (of which i had to remover the rain catcher to allow the bonnet to close) i was wondering, if i fit an induction kit, will the rain that gets through the vent hit/damage the cone? cheers for ur input, tom
hi all, i think i just about understand the concept of adjusting the torsion bar except 1 thing. some people say 'turn it 2 splines itll give you 60mm' etc. just wondering what is a spline and what do you turn? from what i understand, you pull out the bars, jack up the arm to as low as you want...
has anyone here had an rt lowered? ive been to a few garages and asked if they could adjust my torsion bar 50mm and they dont wanna touch it!! must be pretty well off as theyre not too bothered with my business! what type of people will do it? i dont want to attempt it myself in case i muck it...
hi, on ktec, saw a green induction kit for mk1 clio 1.4 rt, just got confused as there were 3 or 4 filters to it? i understand the main ones purpose and location, but what bout the other smaller ones? cheers, tom
hi people, putting a 16v bonnet onto an rt, just wondering though, will i have to modify the rain catcher in order for it to close properly? as the energy type engine is a different layout to the valver engine. think the catcher may hit the air filter housing. if anyones done this before would...
hey, want to lower my mk1 clio rt on 15" wheels. just wondering, how much lower would look good? like its actually been lowered, but not over the top if you know what i mean. i was thinking 40mm all round? i understand 40mm equates to a valver standard ride height. anyway what do you people...
