Warm hatch options? And what to do.

every owners club i searched for the issues it was having was riddled with cars doing the same and most garages diagnosed it without even plugging it in they were that common! we still own it its an imaculate heap.

Oh right! I've always sorta fancied one too lol that one on PH looks like it would be a right hoot to drive!

GTi is great fun like i said earlier in the thread. There is a reason they hold their money well! Did 45k in min, numerous track days and 3 trips to the ring, never had any problems with it at all. Pretty nippy for what they are. not quite 172 quick but quicker than fiesta st's etc. Pretty rare as well

Come on haters, bring it!

I'll own another one, one day!

4 wheel drive version of the Sirion, awesome, Swift or Iggy for me, Panda 100bhp looks superb too, here's my "old" Iggy for you to bash, brilliant chassis.
Don't care what anyone thinks, I did 22k miles in a year and it was amazing.

  Shit little Yaris...
7.8 to 60 rises to 8.1 in Evo. But it's sure nippy for a 1.3

Did your go to someone on the forum? I would have owned that if you didn't live so far away :(

Yeah a lad on here has it, wish I hadn't sold it. The Type-R is a great car, but it can't put the same grin on my face.

It maybe ugly to many, but to me it looked awesome!

To be honest I LOVE the swift sports looks as standard. I think modding the looks ruins em! Those silver ones in this thread are lovely examples! I had the swift sport in the superior red...its a gorgeous colour with a gold flake through the red! I will warn you on this though - The angle of the bonnet and how it stoops at a low angle means you get lots of chips so keep your distance.

Good to hear, I'm thinking of downgrading to one later this year. Anything I need to look out for or any common problems/faults?

Abs Nodule, Lambda sensor and bushes are the only "common faults" but even they are rare on the ground.

I honestly can't fault mine.. Great little car.

I get 42mpg AVG per tank.

Since I have had it though, 4 months, my overall average has been 39.7mpg.

Small(ish) tank £50 for a fill up with 132.9p super unleaded.

As you loved the Iggy, I feel you will love the Swift, same car basically but more grown up and with more creature comforts!

Well 'speed' doesn't bother me, just something fun to drive that puts a grin on my face. I don't think people realise that warm hatches with a good driver are not to be laughed at!

I've given a few surprises to folk on my commute to work as it's a great twisty B road. Once you're up past 3.5k it really goes well actually.

Carries speed like nothing else I've driven, there is a bit of understeer then the chassis REALLY digs in and all of a sudden you have shed loads more grip to play with!

Only problem you may have is the fact that the boot is very small, the seats do fold down and you could get your bmx in,. but maybe thats it.

Yeah, no real faults noted but they have only been around since 2006 so...Ill back up that handling claim as well. I dont claim to have driven every car ever but I have driven quite alot and i would say the swift has instilled the most confidence in me than any of the others INCLUDING the 182!!! It just asks to be chucked around!

Before anyone asks, i got rid of the swift for the 182 because I had two clios before it and always wanted a 1*2! im a renault fan and wanted something that is pretty damn fast in a straight line. The swift is good in a straight line speed wise but the real fun is on those b roads....big smile on my face remembering it! One thing...the jap paint is of course quite soft!

Not much in it tbf. I looked into it heavily before I bought the swift.

The interior, ride and equipment on the Swift are miles ahead of the Twingo.

I'd rather sacrifice a (very) marginal speed difference and have all those things instead.

I test drove both, they are surprisingly similar. Although the swift has better motorway "manners"

Plus the fact that the Twingo still carries a circa £9000 price tag whereas the swift has circa £7000 ( 1 year old, low mileage etc etc )
