Generally no.
My car is similar in colour to the sky. If i put my xenons on I'm afraid people might mistake me for sky/sun combo and pull out in front of me.

I think some of you are being deliberately obtuse.

The guy is saying that if some c**t fails to spot your car in broad daylight then they're clearly not looking or their vision is blocked by parked cars/wildebeest/cataracts. In which case lights are gonna do fuckall.

I agree with this.

That's true but a bright light is going to make your car more likely to be seen.

If someone is going to pull out, your lights might make the difference between him seeing you and not. He might still pull out. But if having them constantly saves you from one accident, it's good enough for me.

I run with my lights on 90% of the time on my Clio, just out of habit more than anything and I don't have xenons.

On a dark/overcast day then yeah, they make an appearance so I can be seen that much easier.

I don't understand how people think having your lights on during the day wont make you more visible... ofcourse having your lights on during the day will make you MORE visible.. it wont mean people will definatly see you, but it will increase the chances they see you....

The chances of someone at a junction seeing you are increased a million percent when you have you headlights on. I don't want someone careering into the side of me so i've always done it.

i've never used lights on a clear bright day, and in 20+ years i've never T-boned anybody, been involved in a motorway pileup, mown down anybody in a shopping precinct or driven through a hedge because i don't drive like a cnut when there are generally more people out and about

Difficult to prove whether it's actually any safer or not, I guess. Difficult to quantify accidents that haven't happened, or that a car is more conspicuous with low beam lights on in bright sunlight. I'm not sure, and my opinion stands that if people haven't seen your car it's because they haven't looked, not because the ton of metal driving along the road at speed hasn't got its lights on.

There does seem to be a bunch of people jumping on the safety bandwagon when, if they're honest, they roll with their xenons blazing because they're so frickin' cool. LOL
