172 Vs Vee 255

gaz - go & drive a vee, then comment. "Don't rate it but never have driven one" you sound like half the forum who comment but have never driven one tbh.

I'm bored now.

So you have no opinion on cars you haven't driven?

Even if it was the best car I had ever driven, I still wouldn't. You've got to actually like the car first.

How on earth someone can dismiss a car without actually driving it is totally beyond me :S

I hate new shape mini coopers, but to see if they were like I thought, I drove two of them (one was a mcs too)

I used to think that large tdi cars were pap, until I was given a passat tdi hire car (when mine for a cambelt change) Tbh it really surprised me, if I was in the market for a big tdi car, i'd have one, no questions:)

At the end of the day to comment on something you at least should have driven it before making up your mind
Your not the first to come out with your comments by any maens & I doubt you'll be the last either.

Fair point. There are times when you know what you will not buy though. This is one of them.

Gaz, no offence mate, but you're barkin up the wrong tree here.

You've made your point...It's right in terms of being a better car...But what defines a better car!

The Vee looks incredible, turns heads more than alot of Supercars, the petrolheads will appreciate it for what it is, the noise is epic, it cost sub 20k, it's FASTER than most things of the same value and 'milage'

S2k, 350z, boxsters...Yawn?!
Scooby's, evo's - Yawn?!

My opinion was that i wouldnt buy any other car sub 35k and you disagreed, which is fair enough. I would say drive one, i never ever wanted a Vee 2years ago and wasnt impressed by them and thought they were a bodykitted clio etc etc. But i drove one and saw one at a meet and began to appreciate them .

I am not saying that you MUST like it, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But i disagree with your view that an s2000 is a better car ,that people who drive vee's are limited in their petrol head knowledge and that vee's are a waste of money.

There must be something with a vee that makes 99% of owners love it to bits and be so defensive about it. I loved my 182 but didnt think it was the muts nuts but with the Vee i feel it is.

I loved my 172 also, the willy on one level, hell i loved my 1.2 at the begining.

I've driven, Evo's, scoobs, Porsche's, A ferrari, classics, Caterhams...All credits to what are...But nothing comes close to the vee

Was even thinkin on my way home...Why would i replace this?! TVR....Maybe...But i think i'd return to vee ownership.

TVR's are awesome in everyway, but you need deep pockets to run them... A speed 6 engine rebuild comes in at the same price as a decent 182... and they tend to need them fairly regularly. They are in the big league to run.

I love all of the vee related banter tbh (shall I resurrect the thread on - have you ever driven a vee ??) As some I bet, haven't at all.

Also, I lol'd hard at a porsche boxster & an s2000 being head turning cars, no they aren't at all !!! A boxster is common as, out of twenty cars I think at least two would be boxsters. S2000's are rarer, but it's not un heard of seeing one on the road at all.

The 350z on the other hand is rare, so that car will (and does turn heads) and I like them.
The vee of course, does do it:) but soo many people look & then pretend not to see it  (in my experience they look & then turn their head away in neck snapping fashion, i've no idea why tbh:S )

Totally agree with you. Its rare and different, I've only ever seen a couple of Vee's on the road before. Performance and handling doesn't make a car. A great car is about how it looks, feels, sounds etc.

  200sx s14a
35k. lotus exige s, monaro 6.0v8 vxr(no doubt same fuel consumption as vee:rasp:), porche cayman 3.4s(imo closer to a 911 than a boxter ever will be). all cars i would have more than a vee for 35k but its a vee we arnt talking 35k league are we lol ! stop crying everyone and enjoy your cars you would not buy them if they were s*it in your own opinions

disagree with ya there mate!! had a bit ov a play with a v in my 182 couple ov days ago and the furthest he got in front was about a car length's in front and i was hammerin him on the corners! all i've got done to mine is a filter and de-cat. dare say with a good re-map the 182 wud pull on beta than the v!!

But, at the end of the day, who care's? I honestly think that on nasty b-roads my 172 is quicker. Don't care, still rather be in the vee, enjoying the noise, the balance (old school 911 feel), the gearshift, and the aura. Like I've said time and time again re the 197, it may be quicker but if we wanted the quickest car for 15k, we'd all be in evo's or impreza's. A vee feels special idling in a car park, 172 doesn't.

lol @ the "V6 owners club" and there defense.

Come on lads dont take it to heart - theres better cars out there for less money
like that piece of Chrysler sh1t in your avatar dont make me laugh

Lol Ironically the V6 argument can be used here in most cases. I would imagine the 300C sounds good, it is quicker in a straight line than a V6 (according to letstorquebhp.com ) would defo get noticed wether it is to everyones taste or not. There are quicker cars for the money (especially round a track).....

Bothered?! lol. For 15k which is what you'll pay for a mk2 vee...You can't get better imo.

Best comeback in this thread IMO. TBF I love the 300c, especially with a Hemi. Real question is though, is it better than an s2000????;) ;) ;) ;)

@ Ali

Define better my little too far northern friend...that is why this argument will never end because people have different needs/likes in a car. 15k is 2nd hand so that opens up lots of options for different needs. 15k would get you a spanking evo that would be faster all ends up, sounds great and has 4 doors and a boot.

I love you

Chris
