DiRT Rally

New content's OK, the A110 sounds epic but is a bit of a nightmare, the R5 drives epic and the S1600s drive OK, but I'd prefer to be rallying them. Not tried the new PP yet, but the new menus are pretty good to gawp at.

I throughly enjoy the A110, Great balance of power and slideyness, Cant wait to get back on this over the weekend, I haven't enjoyed or had as much fun in a long time with a decent driving game, Granted Pcars is great but its very, very serious LOL

Im loving the Rally part of the game but the Rallycross and Hillclimb are a let down on first impression.

Rallycross is very hard to be competitive and plays very differently to the rallying

Hillclimb has such a sharp learning curve its hard to enjoy for what it is. As much fun as it is throwing a 205 with 600+bhp up a mountain i have now idea what way im meant to be heading !!!

Im loving the Alpine, easily my favourite of the 1960s car. Love the pops and exhaust note!! This video below is pretty much my first clean good stage, ironically in Wales...and even then im a few seconds off the leader on Clubman difficulty!! Loving the toughness of the game.

Really struggling with the Rallycross.

I shortened my gear range to below half, which helped....got me around a second a lap. I just scraped 3rd on open level to get to Clubman difficulty.

You do have to treat rallycross as a different game but im really enjoying the close battles with the AI and the strategy of the joker lap. Ive only used the old minis so far.

I loved the rallycross when I tried it. Only on clubman difficulty but was winning those after I got the hang of the cars.

I have to say I bought this on the weekend and I am hooked, I'm a hardcore racing sim fan. This is the best rally sim by far.
I happened to have co-driven a few events inc rally gb and I'm impressed that they have taken the time to actually incorporate real forestry from Wales. I've done sweet lamb and dyffryn and was bowled over that it's pretty accurate. Not a fan of Monte Carlo in a mk2

Loving it now I've sorted the setting for the wheel out, 4 stage (1x Monte Carlo 3x Germany) wins and 1 rally (Germany).

Saw this video and thought it showed quite how close it must be to driving a WRC car at this pace. He's absolutely flying.

I really wish Thrustmaster would release a stand along handbrake for the TX wheel, Its the one massive let down at the moment as it would make it so much easier to use instead of a button on the wheel.

Still a mega game, I chose the Quattro after the Alpine, Bit of a pig compared to that and you really need to change your style of driving but when you nail a stage its sweet, especially with the 5 pot wailing

I need to sort a seperate handbrake, at the moment I'm using a wheel button but when I'm fully crossed up it's a pig to reach.

May move it down to the shifter panel TBH.

I'm sure you have all tried it, but the Renault 5 is a really sweet car! I'm currently working through an 80's Clubman championship and it's been a fantastic machine!

Ive been running time trials on the Pant Mawr sprint stage in Wales, testing out pretty much every car. The Quattro has one of the best engine sounds, great pops aswell! I found the Delta to be the grippiest and most playable to drive - the vid below is probably my cleanest run at 3:19. But i did go quicker with '01 Focus at 3:17 and then the Polo at 3:13.....the Polo will probably the car i use when i get to the higher levels, feels really quick, and probably the best all-rounder.

Other standouts were the Renualt 5 Turbo,Peugeot 205 and the 306 Maxi. Yeah i prefer the hatchbacks heh!

Finally got to have a go on this after getting it for my birthday last week. Only did the 4 stage Greece rally that you can do whilst the game is still installing, but its very hard! Definitely going to take a lot of practice.

However, what a game. The graphics are amazing, the co-driver calls are great (telling you that you have a flat tyre etc.), and it seems very realistic.

I wish I had the room for a wheel and pedal set up.

Yeah I'm up for that! A weekly thing?

Has anyone looked into the league system that you can setup on the Dirt Rally website? Not sure how it works, but might be good to create one for a few of us?

might as well stick with a stage and car and make it easy for everyone. I'll go with whatever mcdriftin posted unless anyone is bothered
