Picked up an AP racing bias valve the other day just need to bleed the brakes and go for a test drive, if that doesn't work, I'm gonna try taking two lines from the MC rather than blocking one port and using the other...
Logically this makes sense, of opening up both the holes so it spreads the braking effort out the cylinder evenly rather than just out of one port... but im not sure if that translates...
If that doesn't work I'm all out of ideas.
Scrolling through my insta and stumbled across the night the shell was loaded up on the trailer to be dropped at mine the following week!

Yeah you can't really do anything safely on uneven pavement/gravel, Should of got marine ply though! as the ply won't last exposed to the weather all day.
Yeah go smaller than what I've got then, as mines for working underneath too, and as you can see in the pic once it's up on stands I can't get the wood out

So after installing the AP racing bias valve and having no success with that, I really really questioned why I was building this car, and questioned WTF was going wrong.
So I had a chat with my local Newbury specialists Andy Reid, and he said to not use the borrowed cup front lines and to make my own.
So I set about doing this, he also said to change what ports went to what brakes.
So the front ports went to the front brakes, and the rear ports to the rear brakes.
Welll I went out with cold tyres and it was raining it already felt so much better, it locked up but definitely a lot less than before.
So the reason why it set up how it was is because the orginal cup lines and m10 and m12 unions already fitted so only fitted in the specific ports...

Right, so still none the wiser with what's going on with the rear bias...
The car is pulling 14kg on the rear on MOT rollers... so the braking effort is reduced enough, for me to move the rear wheels with my hands when someone is stamping on the brakes.
It's not the handbrake cables snagging as the handbrake has been removed and it's still locking up.
I'm questioning whether it's just me on the brakes to hard, but in my old 182 (with abs) I used to brake a lot harder and sharper on track with no locking up, or activation of abs...
Anyway, skinned the bonnet a bit more - now she flexes [emoji48]
and I need a car cover, roof scoop doesn't like the weather...
also spent a bit of time on my mates 205 gti, always nice to work on something else for a change haha.
Well yeah bedford is looming at the end of the month, and the ideas of clamping the rear brakes lines, or removing some of the rear pad material surface area wise are going through my head [emoji85] #pikey

Im not no, i think the cylinder size was wrong, which i completely underestimated... when i came to bleed the brakes the handbrake would be solid, and the rear brakes would not retract... So its still in the car but not plumbed in, as I'm to lazy to remove haha.
Angle grinder accuracy, its not really that clean... but it weights s**t all now! Which helps the back when lifting it off the car

Are both rear wheels locking?
I'm thinking you may have a seized shocker or a twisted axle that is unloading one wheel (like cocking a leg)
When heavy braking is causing a lock on that wheel
Just to add I would put the brake lines back in there original ports (diagonal split) as I don't fancy your chances of pulling it up with only 28kg of brake force if you have a front pipe fail

0.50 and 3.30 is toe on the rear... The axle is not straight...

What's the measured in degrees? Surely you'll see 3 degrees of toe in? it looks straight...
The offside rear is also bent so that might upset things a little...?

I work with Dunlop tracking sticks mate, so I'm not 100% sure if that's in degrees and minutes or in mm tbh. You should be able to see it, but it's hard to line it up on a Clio. You need something for your eye to line up on, and I personally find that quite difficult on a Clio. Not impossible though.
Good luck with that bonnet. My flappy one cracked and had to be replaced!

Was at J-Tech earlier. He said you'd rang about the braking issue.
Yeah, see if he had dealt with anything similar for the breaking problem... and was just getting a price on some alignment,, I might pop in and have a look at there m3 it looks awesome!

Wasn't the Clio. Needed a few bits on the Beemer done.
Took the misses out for spin today, it followed with "can I drive it" ...

Just love being in it, went out on the direzzas and the car felt so much stable, you can definitely feel the sidewall flex on the toyos (some ditchfinders)
Turn in felt so much more sharp and outright grip was great.

So not many updates have happened, but drove it up to Silverstone today to have a catch up with Anthony and took it as a good oportunity to speak to a few of the Tricolore lads above their caes/series - which they were happy to answer my questions!

So yeah Anthony was on a mission and I managed to get my car on some corner weight scales.
So this was before, very very happy with the weight of it (about 1/4 of fuel) (899kg)
This was after I think, the diagonals and rears suffered abit but the front weights are pretty decent. But Im happy and happy that we didnt spend long on it at all and take up Anthonys day etc
But yeah after discussing my brake situation the brembo kit will be up for sale, and I'll go back to standard callipers and going to have another look at the way I have layed out the MC as I'm now getting to much bias to the fronts even on standard pads.
Oh and the rear beam is perfect, f**k knows what happened to the alignment machine in a few posts above...

Sorted how I am going to bolt my front windows in just debating cutting all the material out covering it up! My uncle work a window fitting company so he is going to do a decent job of the sealant on the backs!
Im not on the Bedford one its to far for me after the Oulton park trip
Car looks great with those silver mirrors, reminds me of the brushed aluminium Audi RS type.
