bit ians 106 was a a good result. Paul and Alan couldnt stop smiling after their figures.

i'm regretting not running mine now, ah well may be next time.

and that tec sounded like thor gargling nails whenit hit vtec.

yeap not bad, GDI did the conversion. Its got cams, flowed head etc too so would have liked more but not displeased at all considering the other figures!

mines was something like 179bhp and 151Lb ft torque need to double check but it sound right as I wasnt too pleased with the results lol

I was side by side with Martin going back down the road, I pulled away a fair whack but I dunno if he was going for it or not? I'd imagine having over twice his torque I'd pull away easily

Just out of interest had anyone who was there had their car on any other rolling roads and how did the figures compare? especially the @ the wheels figures?

Just wondering really as I've found the old figures for mine and whilst the figure at the fly and the torque figure is pretty much the same the figure at the wheels is quite a bit different.

5k since its been chipped, was about 4k before. Still pulls from 40 -100+ in 4th gear though, then another two to go.

I also ran at Star the weekend before too with a Vauxhall meet. I got 193bhp & 276lbs/ft as did two other Astras, one of them belonging to the owner of DTUK who makes my chip, he said the torque figures were very low and they expected much higher (around 290-310lbs/ft). Power at the wheels then was 151bhp.

Power at the wheels at Falkland was 146bhp IIRC.

Best figure ive had on a RR was 167 @ the wheels on GMC's. Still not over the 200bhp fly figure which was my aim when modding this car

i was in 5th instead of 4th but it still fuking pulled lol, once i got the revs up your car stoped increasing the gap but i couldnt get any closer lol, i was well impressed with it, so was my mate.

i loved big ians 106, ill get the vids up when i get a new cable it went really well for what it was!

Hi Andy, the cup is pretty standard engine wise, just a C+C custom cat back exhaust and an ITG panel filter. I was pretty pleased with the results

Yeah it was me you were talking to matey, was taking note of how you entered the exige lol - arse first, then swing the legs in! I was trying to get in and out of Justin's the other week and I looked like a total twonk
John's car is really nice, especially with the lotus wheels n suspension. I've got an endowment policy coming to me in the next few weeks, maybe a test drive would wet my whistle?

Thats why I was asking before as mine seemed a lot lower than expected - mine was 128.7 @ the wheels and 171.1 @ the fly. Last time mine was on a RR it made 149.5 @ the wheels and 172 @ the fly.

I was discussing this on another forum and after doing a quick search and from what someone else was saying though maha rollers (the type they used) aparently always make very low figures @ the wheels. Either way though I'm fairly confident that the fly figures are pretty reasonable as almost everyone seemed to get the sort of figures they expected.

I don't know how they can make low figures tbh but I've seen it mentioned in a couple of places - as I say I don't know too much about RR's. And mine is a Mk1 btw so not 12bhp down on stock . As I say though I'm still fairly confident in the figures we got as the figures @ fly seemed spot on.

it is IMPOSSIBLE for any rolling road to give "spot on" flywheel figures

a rolling road measures the power AT THE WHEELS and that figure is then calculated to give an approximate flywheel figure

donsrno, i do appologise, i assumed you had a 172/182, but there's still no way on god's earth that a 128 @wheels = 170@fly

Tbh I'm not going to argue with you as you know a hell of a lot more than me about this sort of stuff, I do however know that they measure figures @ the wheels and will never give a value that is "spot on" @ the fly as there is no way to measure transmission losses 100% accurately, i just used it as a figure of speech.

Either way I know mine is running the sort of figures (approximately anyway) the RR showed @ the fly so I'm happy enough. I can't say why the figures shown @ the wheels are lower but everything seems to work out about right imo.
