Riggers' Primera P10 trackcar

  JDM Dc2
I thought i'd do a little progress thread on here maybe it could inspire someone else to get a 90s touring car and do similar to what i'm going to do with this aha. I've taken depsoit on my DC2 and this is it's replacement, bought cheap off a mate who's completed 4 trackdays faultlessly apart from a radiator and rear pads that's all he had to replace, he's fitted some S14 4 pots that now need new discs and pads which i'm in the middle of sorting, and the tyres are right on the markers so ordered some Federal RSR's just for now on these wheels. The cars been hit on the offside rear so it could do with a new rear quarter ideally but with it being a trackcar it's getting left for now, the bootlids rusty around the spolier too from people opening and closing the bootlid using the spolier as a handle they're known for working loose and rotting around the bases aparently. The cars on less than 100k and its pretty much rust free apart from on the offside front wing so its a perfect base for progress.

So breif spec of the car -

150bhp SR20DE, uses no oil and revs to 7500rpm
ebay manifold, quite large bore tbh looks to be ~2'' primaries)
powerflow catback, sounds nice but needs a decat now to louden it a tad
Ramair filter
Shocks and springs, fronts are damper adjustable the rears don't seem to work aha
16x7" Team Dynamics PR 1.2s, abit battered and the fronts are different offset to the rears for some reason
S14 4 pots
Grooved rear discs

Lots of parts gathered and on order, so afew pics (of its good side haha) and i'll come back to progress in a couple of weeks just before a trackday at Cadwell Park

Love that, I’ve had similar thoughts about doing it with a accord type R. Something special about a 4 door track car

Bet that's a right laugh. A mate bought one of these years ago for about £200 and it just seemed to go on and on.

  JDM Dc2
See one if these at Oulton. In fact its the same one lol!

I was on that day in my dc2 too, he's one of my longest mates I didn't want him to get rid of it haha, too good of a car for me to not get my hands on it being the best base/chassis of any 90s supetourer saloon with proven reliability, winner!

Cheers for the replies, i can't bring myself to btcc wrap it though as I don't have a 50k budget to built a proper supertourer rep haha

  JDM Dc2
So, fully stripped bar the radio and front door cards, buckets i bought for the nova and harnesses out of my Zetec-S and XR2 bought back with the car as he had them both off me, bolted to the floor using recaro sidemounts nice and low reason for the massive sunstrip aha, notched the original 'seatmount channel' to get the seat sitting bang on and central to the steering wheel, note the damage on the OSR quarter aha, also fitted my OMP wheel -

Couple more bits to do before Cadwell next wednesday!

  JDM Dc2
Well Cadwell was bags of fun even with it being 4-5seconds a lap slower than the Teg in the corners it was still mega, i fitted some bluestuff pads last weekend, wish i opted for different pads now as the compound on the disc was building up after afew laps causing juddering, a lap of cooling down mid session seemed to clear it a tad, need to fit some brake ducts before the next, anyways afew pics and a little 5minute edit -

That looks good fun, and doesn't look underpowered either. Really like the Primera GT, I nearly bought one a couple of years back with the same intentions of using it as a track toy.

i ordered some BC coilovers afew weeks ago with stiffer spring rates that what they usually come with, 10kg front 8kg instead of 8kg front and 5kg rear, each around 2kgs lighter than the shocks and springs that were on it, the fronts are a b*****d because of the upper wishbone you have to strip everything down to adjust the height, the rear needs coming down to match the front once they've settled i'll do that along with adjusting the rear toe and getting some new tyres for the 17s that i've aquired, arches rolled and camber bolts fitted on the rear -

  Whichever has fuel
I love these, never had a go on one though. My mate had one with a massive cone filter and it absolutely howled at full chat.
He smashed it up before I got a go in it though.

  JDM Dc2
Cheers for the replies, hopefully it may inspire someone else to get another 90s saloon other than BMWs and come/get into trackdays haha

I found some perfect fitting 17s (17x7 ET40) for sale only 30mins away, buzzing i've managed to find genuine fake centre locks haha, fitted with 205-40 Michelin PS4s, lowered 5mm on the rear and alignment sorted for now -

managed to unseize the rear toe arms with a 2ft breaker bar haha. It doesnt look that low but the sumps about 50mm off the floor and the exhaust needs looking at as its like an inch off the floor, i'm going to EFI Parts soon to see how the map looks to see if it'll take a new exhaust that'll be good for future mods also.

More soon!

I keep thinking it needs to have the max power logo on the sunstrip.. and a set of M3 mirrors.

It looks mighty fine on the Evo R's though !

book figures are 148PS and 132lbs ft so its bang on, running a tad lean though so i'm going to order an adjustable FPR to up the fuel pressure then i can get a new exhaust made, then it should crack 150bhp and sound abit quieter and wont be as low as it's literally an inch off the floor atm!

plated the sunroof over too with some ally, saving another 4-5kgs, need to paint it in a garage to stop ay crap blowing on it -

This is epically good. This is screaming out for a heart transplant, turbo lump from an 200sx maybe?

I’m now going to have a look on eBay and see what there is out there, got my birthday coming up soon and it would be a shame to ask for mundane s**t when I could have cash monies and a new toy [emoji23]

Although the livery is later than yours, I was always a fan of this look.

I've always been a fan of these. There's one not far from me on the wqy to work that's been lowered and it just looks cool. Will get a pic if a I remember.
