  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
New engine is back in the car now, has been for while, but a back opp went a little wrong a few months back and left me with a spinal leak, and then the misses had a rough ride with the birth of our little boy, so the car took a little back seat for a short while.
slowly starting to tinker with it again now things are creeping back to normality.

engine died at Bedford as you possibly know, at the hands of a mate of mine.
new engine is in, PAS has been deleted in the process, fibreglass panels have since been painted, a little more fabrication work on the insides for crutch straps and go pro fixing points for a forward and rearward facing views.
geo is reset and its of for an MOT tomorrow just so I can actually get the reg plate put on it officially.

ARP rod bolts and AT Power ITB's are now sat on the shelf waiting to go aswell, just need to work out what management to opt for and it could be back out again pretty soon :)

Coil pack changed over with chips on Saturday, my one appears ok :)

He also has leant me some injectors to try, started yesterday but only had 20 mins so will test everything later.

We did compare rs tuners live data results though and the only obvious difference is the rear lamba... Mine flatlined continuously as did chips, however mine had a significantly lower reading. Not sure if this anything that could be causing the misfire/rough idle?

  Clio Trophy #343
It was an injector fault!!! Sorted now, test drive on the way to work tomorrow :)

Thanks to dan for the direction and for chip for the parts to test :)

Last bit of messing before llandow:

Tow strap fitted to the car finally, we got a warning at Bedford that if they needed to tow us that they would do so by any means, so added :)

Thanks to Dewis for drilling the hole out for us :)

Then as it came with the car we finally fitted up the splitter

7.3 grams of weight added but its added 40bhp in the photos and at the pub :)

Last few jobs before llandow will be:

Receive licence for rs tuner
Load 98ron map
Geometry on Friday morning :)
Clean and polish
Spray up centre caps

I'm really looking forward to llandow :)

Pre trackday update:

98 Ron Map loaded 15 minutes before we set off

Geomatary done at Northampton Motorsport set to 1.5 deg camber due to max achievable on the one side, and half a degree tow out on each side.

Overall experience with Northampton Motorsport is good equipment and an expert in the field... However, customer services is very poor, we were given a price on the phone then after the work was done that had changed to an hourly rate :( I was told if there was complications then the price may change. however, we had none yet the price went up £30!!!

The attitude when we argued was to say stupid comments such as 'I also chatted on the phone for the 30 mins about dampers and top mounts, I charge £90 an hour so there is £30'

Obviously maths not a strong point either!!

Soo we won't be going back, I should have simply gone to the place James suggested but I got talked into this when ringing round lol

Winter parts have all arrived now:

Items Recieved:

4x A048r Part warns (3mm+)
2x Brand New 888
PMS top mount and strut brace kit
Cooksport Springs
Rear camber shims.
2 new wishbones

Dewismotorsport has kindly offered us the use of his workshop to fit all the new bits and give the car the once over and set up the geo, ideally would like to find the cause of the knock we currently have on cornering if its not the top mounts or springs.

Pictures and updates with pictures next weekend

  Clio Trophy #343
The has been MOT'd yesterday thanks to the help of #fred@btm

Car needs a run though as it's developed a very slightly rough idle lol

Forgot to get pics of the finished article

Oil and filter done :)

Track tyres fitted

Geometry done also :)

1.2 deg camber front
1mm total toe out
Rear camber 1.7 deg drivers side and 2.7 deg passanger ( will remove shim next weekend)

Stupidly we did not check rear camber before we started as it we thought it was 1deg birth sides after the Northampton Motorsport set up.. Whoops

Issues from the weekend:
New bolt required for stub axle
New pads needed as ds2500'd have worryingly disintegrated
One shim needs removing as its too much on one side
Sachs need a refurb after Bedford

Initial thoughts are that car feels great, really taught in comparison :)

And finally and most importantly a massive massive thanks to dewismotorsport for the use of your workshop for the weekend, letting us stay your house, for driving us around and most of all for your help with the car :) you sir are a legend and slowly becoming a renault specialist

Also was great to see nick and Craig on Friday, we should defo do that again :)

  Clio Trophy #343
Review of springs etc will be in 1 months time at Bedford :) feels great on the road but as yet have only been relatively gently as brakes etc need sorting first

  Clio Trophy #343
Had a morning free today so the list was as follows:

Removed drivers side rear shim

Fit 13mm stub axle bolt we had previously sheered

Investigate misfire, suspected exhaust mani gasket or injector so fitted new exhaust gasket

Only pics I took as we were short of time

New parts:

Rear stub axel bolt missing,

Then we messed around here lol

F5C52BC3-7CED-4A0C-A35D-50ECA7D4CD0D.jpg

Exhaust gasket was fine tbh

However we had the plugs out and one of the plugs was very black, changed the injector over for a spare... And its running perfectly :) successful morning overall :)

Only thing left to do is change the pads, another bleed and give generally clean and generally service them
