Read the small print - prices dependant on vehicle, vehicle age and mileage so they will still charge £800+ for timing belt on a 182

Where does it say that ? The woman i spoke to on the service desk asked me for my car details . I told her it was a 2 litre Clio Sport " 182 " . I was quoted £399 for cam belt and aux belt with the kit . She made a tentative booking for me so i'm going to ring back today and get her to confirm what it includes . All i can see is where it says " All prices stated except Interim Sevice and Renault Service exclude V6 engines.
Prices stated are the maximum recommended retail price including fitting and VAT at the prevailing rate."

Accessory Belt Only £259

WHAT? £259 for an aux belt fitted?? And that's a good price how?

Brake Pads and Discs £259

Expensive

Coolant £89

its £12 for a 5L bottle and takes about 30min??

need i go on?

They quoted me on the phone £66.83 for the water pump and coolant fitted . I'll see what they say when i ring back today .

as already mentioned "Prices dependent on vehicle"

basically i wouldnt imagine many dealers doing these prices on RS vehicles

I don't know if the website has been amended since people found out about this but it now says that it excludes the RenaultSport range and V6 models.

just to update you lot yes it excludes RS models. but there will be deals for RS models coming soon.
it wasnt renault i belive the website was done by a outside company who done it wrong

-.- argghh, the deal was too good to be true, so I'm not surprised really. Surely they can put something together working from the same price list, but with added conditions like "+£10 for Renaultsport models" etc, if they keep it fair then customers will still be happy with the offers.

"Fixed price servicing, All ages, All cars" is a little bit misleading with the amount of exclusions listed.

5 pages and no one has read the bit at the bottom of the page posted in post 2

All prices quoted are manufacturer recommended retail prices including VAT at the prevailing rate for Renault cars. All offers exclude LCVs, the ZE range, Espace, Renaultsport and V6 engines. All prices are correct at time of publication and may be subject to change at any point without notice.

  clio 172-?
i booked mine in while it only said excludes v6 models, still got mine booked in for the 5th cam+aux+waterpump = £499 :)

I got a letter about this from my local dealer despite it stating it excludes Renaultsports :banghead:

Why do they exclude Renaultsports from the £155 service? Is the oil much more expensive? The filters aren't going to be much different in price and it can't be much different time wise to carry out.

  clio 172-?
yeah i just hope i dont get a phonecall or a suprise when i get there, the guy did do a deal though when i spoke to him he origionally said near 600 just for belts i think and i mentioned the fixed price and sorted it all for me. i really hope it stays at 499 because i want to get my turbo fitted this month :)

Pretty damn lucky if you got in on the deal before they added the renaultsport exlusions!

That's what i'm hoping . Mines booked in on Friday . Initially i got a quote over the phone a couple of weeks ago , but i rang up the other day and asked if they could email me a copy of the quote . So now i have a hard copy so to speak of what they're gonna do . And the price quoted is £613 for the timing and accessory belts kits including water pump , spark plugs , intermim service which includes a diagnostic check and a courtesy car . Thats with me supplying my own oil which saved me £27 , only because i had some Silkolene that needed using up . It also states i have saved a total of £455.20 . So the grand total would normally have been £1069.03

Don't think its the service that is the problem it's more the fact that the plugs/cambelt/brakes etc cost a lot more so they just exclude it from the whole range. The sports use the same oil as the 1.2 etc anyway!

  clio 172-?
mine went in today to get the work done so i think i managed to get it, picking it up at 4 clock tomorrow :) i think with some dealers you could probably still get away with this

  clio 172-?
mines now had the work done, both belts and water pump plus coolant :)

reading over the reciept replace timing belt, water pump, aux belt quoted £499 and underneath a side note 44.86% discounted lmao it shows parts price list and all of them have also been discounted, i looked over the car and it all looks spot on noticed a shiny dephaser pulley in there too which i thought was extra. also a renault stamp in the book.
happy days :)

Got my car back from Renault today after it's 72k service although it's only done 33k . Was a bit of shambles really on their part . A couple of parts they ordered hadn't arrived . So they had it for a few days lol . I wasn't complaining cos i had a lovely Alfa Romeo 159 sportswagon , then i had to swap that for a fcukin tin box on wheels Twingo , what a crap car that was lol . They'd seriously undercharged me as they'd quoted me for a 2009 1.6 expression because my 182's an import thats what it came up on their sysyem as from my Reg. number lol , but they had to honour it . This is the quote which also included coolant and me supplying my own oil . In total it was £609 , they said it should been nearer to £1500 :S . So owning an import paid off :rasp: , not only did i pay less than a UK model but i got a cheap service too :D

you git! got it cheaper than me and i was chuffed with mine :p

How much did they charge you if ya don't mind me asking ? They said i was lucky and that i wouldn't get it at that price again lol . Fair play to them for honouring their quote, thats why i got it emailed just in case they conveniently for what they quoted over the phone lol .

  clio 172-?
well yours was 465 for belts and water pump mine was 499.99, not much difference but you got more work done than me, aparently they were trying to get hold of me the day i took it in but i must have given them the wrong number but it got done also they have fixed my bonnet catch :) not sure but i think they have put a new one in, cannot fault my local renault tbf car runs perfect and they fixed my bonnet for free

Like ya say . Not much difference you still got a good price plus having a Renault stamp in your service book always looks good when it comes time to sell it although the specialists probably know more about these cars than Renault garages themselves . I got a recall letter for the bonnet catch ages ago , i didn't bother though, i just keep it well lubed lol .

  clio 172-?
yeah still chuffed with the price but the car was sat for at least 6 months without movement and the last time i looked at the catch it was rusted and getting stuck real bad so all good :)

Hi :) We have an 05 Renaultsport Clio 182, & it is due for the 72k service... I have asked the local Renault delership to e-mail me a quote for the job (I recall they wanted to award themselves about £1k last time I asked :-o) , and to also quote for a water pump change (while in the service), & a spark plug change (hoping the fixed price still sticks?) I have also asked her to send a list of the price for each of the parts.

It has had FRSH with this dealreship, but I would really prefer to take it to a specialist renaultsport garage - please can you throw some recommendations my way? :-D

We are near Bolton, so Lancs/Manchester, or further for an emphatic recommendation.

Thanks loads... hoping to have it done by next week at the latest.
