Why do i have to live in Jockland!!! Looks ace mate, what power is it running?

  Clio 220 lpg
Yep the car is well and trully all back together hope fully Andy and his Dad mot'ed her yesterday and set up the headlight's, had a run down the road and the KC spot light's where all pioting in the right direction.
We have only found one prob on the car and that the near side wheel is 1/2" back we think it has some thing to do with the wish bones, doe's anyone know if they could be different though out the 172 production?
Need to sort all the spares today drag the trailer out and load up.
Should be excelent watching, there,s is going to be cars spinning all over the place, watching a £200,000 wrc car's and that lovely feeling you get with the sound of a Metro 6R4. Anyway if you see us in the service call in and say Hi.
See you there Alistair Hutchinson

Seemed to be doing well out in the slush/snow/ice today.

ah i should have asked if anyone else was going, me and my bro were there braving the weather lol

apart from cliping a boulder of ice and getting a soft tyre car ran faultless.

ill be back with pics and a full report later :D

got to say a massive well done for even keeping it on the track (apart from losing the bumper)

the conditions in the morning were bad enough, but then with the snow storm in the afternoon visibility must have been shocking! it was bad enough trying to spot the cars from track side, so can't imagine what it was like out there

we only braved about an hour of the snow, then decided it was time to leave before the car got snowed in

Well we got to the end and what a journy.
Was that worried about the weather that I dropped the car van and trailer down on Newyears day. There was a covering of 2" of snow all over the track except in the middle where they had gone round with a jcb.
Through the night it melted slightly and then rained and then to top it of the inch of slush froze :S.
After getting the car through the checks and sighning on, a quick walk around the track to see where advantages could be made;), and what I could see was where the snow ploughing had not been done, was where all the grip was, but there was large lumps of ice as hard as rocks and as big in place's as 12".
So the only tyres in our eye's to use was some Kingpin snow tyre's we had bought earlier in the week. with them strapped on (and me as nerve's as hell) we started the first stage. A little gentle into the first corner then as we went we found we had good grip and were catching the car that set of in front of us (30seconds) with in a mile just past tower corner for those who know, then when we came down to the grand stands we court up with about 4 car's in a row and went drove basically round the outside of them all, what a laugh.

On stage 2 we must of hit one of those ice rocks as we ran over the bumper so then the clio didn't look as pretty:eek:

After over taking every car upto car 3 which included Subarus Escorts etc we only got over taken once (we even overtook him when he put the wrong tyres on after the snow fell after dinner) by the man who won the class. Here's the incar from the Escort mk2 of Dave Hemingway, you will start to see us from 2.30 mins we had a bad stage when we came up on a wagon tyre then reversed set of again which lost us 15 secs:rolleyes: Then we found out at the end we had a puncture it's good watching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajjnUAg0Uww&feature=channel
But the times were there or there abouts and We started the day 5th overall and ended that way with a 2nd in Class aswell . But because Dave came 3rd overall we got 1st inclass trophy:rasp:
Nice to meet 1 or 2 forum member's and thanks to Andy and his dad who were on the spanners.

Well had a quick spanner check on the car on Saturday morning, apart from resetting the flat shift, which must of lost its memory with being stood for 6 mounths, everything is looking fine for our second event of the year at Croft on Sunday, all I need to do is sort the front bumper and load the car up.
The event is the Jackfrost if anyone wants to come along and see me and Hutchie.

Well we had mixed weekend, The Norbeck castle hotel was the hosting venue, with scrutaneering inside the confrence hall, very nice. Got through that fine and went of to start the Friday night stages. Well we decided that we had to get through the fifst 4 stages with no mistakes so a little to steady run saw us in 26th overall by the end of the night, but don't worry the Clio of Ben Wood was leading the class.
Sat morning was a different story. The first stage of the day saw us quickest and I mean we beat all the wrc Imprezas evo's everyone, get on and it was such a buzz, Ben was parked up on stage after hitting a shovel tyre :( which was a shame as I would of liked to of compared our tim's all day.
We set 9 class fastest time's through the day but a couple of stage max made us drop and we eventually came 19th 5th in class.
New engine going in next and a gearbox rebuild ready for Ingleston up near Edinburgh next in 10 weeks, so plenty to do.:D
