rain and light sensors

hi all, my rain sensors and light sensors have just simply stopped working is this a common problem and is there a way to fix it without throughing moneys at it?

Have you tried flicking your lights on and off twice to see if that fixes it?

yeah and to get the rain to work you need to take the box off the window clean all the area, then put some oil on the sensor.
