My Evo VI

Continuing my 'you only get one life' approach to car buying I have bought my new toy!

1999 Evo 6
80k

No history from before it came to the UK but since it arrived in 2011 it has been dry stored and maintained by the same Evo specialist CPP.

Went to look at the car and it was at a nice house stored in a double garage. Nice new x5 on the drive so always a good sign.

The car itself is really tidy for its age. Front bumper has a few marks from stone chips etc but for a 17yr old car it's really good.

It's running 'stage 1' mods so exhaust, filter, fuel pump, etc should be good for 330bhp.

I really do love these, They look so damn nice.
The dashboard always makes me cry a little inside when I see them....

It does a job. End of.

It's like complaining that a Black & Decker hammer drill's grip looks 'too functional'

All about the exterior

Is it darren on here with the evo 8 interior, makes it miles better inside

I had an Evo IX interior in mine, if that's who you were thinking of?

OP - did you buy it through Gaz @ CPP? He's a legend with Evos - knows the things inside-out.

Gaz has done all the servicing and stuff on it since it came in in 2011.

Love the black NACA duct - wish I'd had that.

I take it those are 18s that it's running on? Would love to have a bash with the Jap OEM VI RS steelies in a teeny 15". The arch gap would be horrendous, but the acceleration would be even more crazy!

How's the under-side? Is it showing any signs of the dreaded tin worm after being over here for over four years??

No, always been garaged and only done 600 miles in the last three years. I'll be getting it undersealed again.

Not for me it doesn't. Body panels of a car do 'a job' but most people don't buy f'ugly cars for a reason.

I'm not saying I couldn't live with it but I'd need to change it somehow 🔨:nut::spanner: :tonguewink:

Finally, I now know what the place with all the Evo's is called. Have been going past wondering what company it is for years.

Car looks lovely! That old Toca Race driver game made me really want a blue VI when I was younger. Bonnet cam ftw.

First impressions after a day ownership are these;

1) it's thirsty....real thirsty

2) I've never had a car that gets so much attention and looks

3) EVERYONE seems to want to have a 'race' with you

4) It's a lot better than any scooby I've owned.

5) It's properly fast

6) I LOVE IT!
