My Clio tce

  Renault
The tce's will be the future :p! Because manufacters keep downsizing engines, and the fuel price just goes upp...Tce's have great pottencial, and soon will exist more parts and projects with this engine.
There is some links about projects and parts for tce,

Interested to know if there is more tce like mine in uk? Good links thank you, may need pistons, rods etc soon anyway. Head gasket will get done bybktec if the price is right, presume no uprated gaskets available yet.... It's good to look into bits and bibs I mean I'd also like a custom inlet manifold but I think all this needs to be saved for and planned with more knowledgable people ie ktec.... Lol. :D

I've seen 170bhp 1.2tce no more though.

Very nice.

But the bonnet raisers are a myth.

A few washers and longer bolts....Bonnet raisers.... A myth you tell me.... I say a bit of good old style DIY.

Looking at the filter I think I will move it right back and over to the right a bit, there is plenty of room now the old air box has gone. further away from the blower the better.

Thanks for the links, good to know about the hg. I'm at ktec all day on Friday 9-5pm so I'm sure we will have enough time to talk about further progress with the car. Lots of bits need to be "custom" made atm....

Is it worthy?

Inifinite discussion in Brazil: Clio 1.6 or Clio 1.0 Turbo?

As we don't have 2.0 Clios, some consider a swap (from Scenics or Meganes) an option. But it's like 2 times more expensive.

  Clio tce
Tce turbo controlled efficiency.... Another hi jack.... Pistols at Dawn.... Lol.

In a clio I would suggest the 1.2 turbo over a 1.6 due to the better efficiency and similar performance.

I like the international community getting involved.

You guys are completely right. Effiency makes all the sense.

We in Brazil even having Petrobras pay too much for gas. But remember we have 1.0, not 1.2 :)

Anyway, we've seen aspirated and 1.0 turbos, they don't have similar perfomance as the 1.6. Never seen one like 1.6 original.

And I must admit, Torque is love. :)

That's difficult to calculate.. To me is "12km / Litre" don't know how to transform this to your number hehehe..

But we pay R$2.70 / Litre; 50L = R$135.

The high pressure air at the windscreen will not cause the engine air to magically jump out.
It will be sucked down the bulkhead by the low pressure running under the car.

Save your washers.

I'm not sure, I used this calculator and 12KM/L would be:
29.4 MPG

That's insane to a 1.0L Engine? Hehehe, pretty commom here.

EDIT: Oh thats on the city, on roads would be 17.2KM/L which is:
47.04 MPG

Ah that's why the Bonnet gets so warm because the hot air gets pulled away from it.... ;-) in traffic or at 10mph there is not a lot of pressure difference to pull the hot air down and away, I understand your science but I can't see it's plausable in a road cars average situation. Best let the hot air escape and use the fact hot air rises to help assist with this issue.

To be honest this is the first time I've seen anyone go all out on a TCE with the intercooler and such. Not a fan of the vent but I guess if it's needed...

Are you running 45mm springs too?

to clear a few things up from the last page.

Dynamique S and Dynamique SX all had wider front arches, from 1.2 16v to 2.0 16v
The kit upgraded your Dynamique S to a Dynamique SX, that was the only difference between the 2

a question... the Rip Curl version also has wider front arches?

Quick, let's all raise our bonnets to let that hot air escape when we are sat in traffic.

I stated they are a myth - in performance terms, I must apologise for not defining that.
You are wanting to help your under bonnet temps when sitting at traffic lights - I didn't know that. Good on you, being conscious of that fact cars dont tend to overheat when stationery, but want to try and fail safe that.

Science doesn't apply to normal road going cars, you're spot on.

Irrespective, it's your project, good luck with it.

very nice numbers that you got, Congratulations ;)
the clutch handle well with the 163bhp and the170lbs'ft torque, is it OEM?

  Clio tce
Clutch is valeo standard equipment... Only a week old. No slip what so ever...

Now need to plumb in the 13 row mocal, fit disks pads and look to smooth out the mapping, then well.. Who knows... Lol

So far thanks goes to firstly Andrew baker, director of baker and sons garage treherbert Wales, matt at fast road conversions kent, and andy at ktec thanks for helping create a good birthday present for me :)

Me and mr baker had a fun time last weekend.... Not as straight forward as it seems..... Lol.

Ktec have sent off a clutch and flywheel for upgrading so as soon as they are available I think I'll grab them, flywheel should mke a nice difference. Next really needs to be uprated head gasket, con rods pitons, head bolts, etc.... Time to start saving. Need David Kirk owner of ktec to get some companies on board to create these products for tce junkies... It's a lot of effort searching for companies to do the work as a one off Lol.
