Pulley's an belts would be the last thing i'd be thinkin of doing. But it's upto you, you've done what you've wanted after people have given you advice an you prob will again.

I know its got 8 months warranty but just cant be bothered.
Its still a nice car to look at parked, but been quoted £500 for the pully and belts to get done from a place in london called Renaultworld.

Christ man, stop going to random garages and seek advice from someone reputable! If one place doesn't want the hassle, try another! At the very least you want someone to diagnose the problem or, if you're happy to spend money getting it repaired, then you'll know it's somewhere where it'll be cared for.

Instead your running it whilst its not right making whatever problem you have worse, not bothering to use the warranty that you have paid for and going to random garages all geared up to part with another £500 for a 10 seconds diagnosis?
