MK2 UG FRS would be my choice, or an Escort Cossie :)
but could always go for a MK1 FRS aswell :)

Classic Impreza or a mk1 focus rs like most are saying. I've owned both and the rs focus was damn good but only at 300+ horsepower (that isnt cheap and nor was running it :-/) because they are there not that much fun. The there's the impreza, mine was a uk spec running about 280 and it was the dogs bollox at being everything you ever wanted and more ;-) serious bit of kit, mega plus side is 4wd drifting is mental ;-)

Classic impreza with 285 bhp (my last one) with some big brakes (my last one didnt!!) is literally all the car you'll need!!

So yeah, if the budget was 15k, that escort cossie would be top of the list!

If I could have bought and built that escort Cossie as it stands in that picture all for £15k then I'd have been a very happy man!

Is it wrong that after reading through this thread I'd kinda love to see what a Mk1 Focus RS looked like sprayed in Mk2 green... (even though the blue is awesome as well)
