I'm getting mine looked at by Fred at BTM soon. Pretty sure it's the dephaser pulley.

Does sound like the VVT pulley. Sounds a bit bad tho! Would recommend you get it to garage and fixed asap

Well now its pissing oil from cambelt area. Dephaser seal must be foooked so off the road again. Total money pit just had the belt done 4k ago. ive only done 10k since i bought it! Never again wil I buy a renault

If it's been done recently then i'd take an educated guess that they've replaced the dephaser seal for a normal camshaft seal. That's caused oil starvation in the dephaser so damaged it and now it's leaking

doubt it will have done other damage. but it might be worth removing the rocker cover to check the cam bearing journals condition. I've seen one that was caused oil starvation due to a holed sump and it ruined every bearing surface in the head, and the dephaser

Yours shouldn't be like that though, so dont panic

local garage did the work and they will be repairing it this time aswell, im gunna make sure to let them know difference in seals because this seems like the most likely cause of this.

In fact il probs take the day off work and stay at the garage while it gets done so this way il know if its there mistake or just pure coincidence

Yeah il keep the progress updated, il make a new video aswell once work has been done

I think once its starts with the fatal rattle its dephaser time, keep an eye out 4 oil aswell mate because if it starts leaking an your still using the car your fooked lol

Not found any oil mate so mine doesn't sound quite as serious as yours. Been trying to get hold of Fred to arrange going over on Saturday so he can have a listen but his phone number doesn't work... :-( lol

if its leaking out def pully then u'll b needing to replace cam belt again too, it will have oil forced into it and brake. it ent the end of the world and it is a performance car afterall.

Yeah new belt will be fitted aswell just didn't order it from renault

hope they've got the renault tools, you'll need a cam seal kit from reanult too (about £30)
