horrible noise on idle

basically the car is making a horrible whistling noise whilst idling, sounds pretty loud. cant really hear it whilst revving but i think its still there..

the cars a 1.4 16v mk2 y reg, any ideas?

Possibly a pulley on the aux belt gone dry. Can you locate the whistling noise under the bonnet?

Mine does the same, seems to be the pulley on the aux belt. Any idea what i can do with it?
