Clio - problem starting.

right here goes,

I have a 2002 plate Renault Clio 1.2 16v.

Was running fine up until the other day. I was out, came back to my car and it wouldn't start.

it was turning over but just wouldn't fire. If it's left a few hours it will start.

any idea's on what it is? or anyone who has had the same problem, how did you fix it?

double triple bump on this one , my mates car doing the exact same thing .
its 2001 model 1.2 engine .

this happened to mine a while back...

at 1st i thought it was the immobiliser but it turned out to be the starter motor - it was that covered in muck that it wouldnt spark. AA came out and knew what it was straight away.

Took it off, gave it a clean and hey presto... car starts 1st time again...
