City powder coating in Birmingham | Highly Recommended £80 per set for a Refurb!

They do a one day drive in drive out service now. I'm sure they told me £45ea.

That's going to be more expensive as they have to do them ASAP...I was lucky that I bought a set of turinis in a bad state and got them refurbished while I rolled on the standard 182 wheels...then swapped rims over once they were done.

Maybe someone should set up a loan wheels deal whereby Clio drivers wanting to run around on a set of wheels/tyres can do but give a sum across...

how long do they normally take?
I need my fabia ones doing

Depends on how bad they are in first place. Normally a couple of days, I dropped mine off on a Monday and picked them up on the Thursday but to be fair , they were fooked (not by me, so took bit longer)

they got a mark on the one wheel where it was dropped but just pitted other than that

What do you do about the plastic 182 centre cap?

You'd have to get that painted.

Do you know if they do it?

Need wet spraying and iirc they don't do it.

They don't do wet paint...only powdercoating. As the centre cap is plastic, it can't be powdercoated as they need heat and plastic melts!

You would need to do it yourself. Jawal in Smethwick is probably the best bet around the Brum area and they can give you a semi decent match (from their eye) to the colour you get on the powdercoat and while it will not be 100% accurate, it will be near enough as damn it.

I've decided to wet paint and refurb the wheels myself

I might take my 182 wheels to these in the future, not too fussed on the centre caps as they'll mainly be used for winter and track use

Do I need to remove tyres before hand or do they do it?

Ah I see, I would be better off getting the bloke I know at a tyre place to remove them for me :)
Cheers chaps

Sorry, I mean it's an extra tenner for them to remove and refit (£30 total inc powdercoat at £20) Unless you really know him well, I'd leave it to City.

Ye I know him well, he'll probably remove all 4 tyres for a tenner to be honest

£10 to remove, refit and balance tyres per wheel. You're better getting someone you know to do it Chris...they are power coaters, not tyre specialists...so best get someone in the know to do it.

Are these people still £20 a wheel, £30 including removing/refitting/balancing tyres?

Half tempted to give the Golf alloys a nice spruce up whilst I'm away on holiday.

The prices still haven't changed or been updated, I'd give them a ring to be sure.
