BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

If Ian doesn't fix them - and I'm sure he will - I would be tempted to treat the hole as just a threaded hole into the caliper, whack a banjo on it with a good old fashioned copper washer to seal - then fit those bleed nipples into the end of the banjo..

As long as there's clearance before the wheel.. maybe not

As for Matt/TDF - Absolute f**king jokers. Took all your money, fucked the car up and now it turns out haven't even paid their suppliers.
Never mind I'm sure that money helped bump start his international race team support FLOL

Yes you can , we have done this many times and its never failed to work

Cheers Ian
Yes if he sends them to me , address on my website i'll do it for him

Thanks for that Ian really appreciate it I will get them collected from me tomorrow so should be with you Friday :)
Hi James, sorry to hear about the latest bad news. Excuse my ignorance, but if the existing bleed nipples are say M6 (or whatever they are) could you not tap an M7 or M8 hole and fit a bleed nipple with a larger diameter screw but the standard size nipple, I'm sure there must be some available, or if not then a 'widget' to connect a standard size diameter nipple to a M7 or 8 hole?

That was the fall back plan but after buying the bleed valves the bits I would need would of cost another £100 the link to the banjo bleed nipple are http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310582791442?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 I would just need to get the top of the caliper machined smooth and then it should work but hopefully Ian's way will work :)

Lol yeah I couldn't believe it when Matt (Jetstream Matt not TDF Matt) told me that :(

Does anyone know an anodising company that could do me a really quick job?

I've got a bracket arriving special delivery in the morning and I need it ready by Wednesday as its for the switch panel and the switches are all soldered so need it to be able to crack on with the wiring!

Will get it powder coated otherwise but would be better anodised I think.

If anyone can suggest anything it would be much appreciated :)

Thanks
James

James, speak to Nick at Camcoats in Warrington. I've just dropped my manifold, turbine housing and downpipe of for ceramic coating but they do some new anodize coating

Thanks for that mate I will give them a call Monday although I think i'm pushing it with the timescales lol! Thanks again for the help the other day too
James for out Formula Student we had a load of stuff Annodised at a place in Huddersfield (I think). Google will know.
I will have a look thanks Chris it certainly doesn't seem to be as many companies doing it as powder coat
There's a place near me that does it - can't say how fast though! They are good though tbf
Yeah thats the problem with the timescale :(

James don't forget it's bank holiday this coming Friday and Monday, so be careful with the post you'll be down to 4 day week!

Ah yes I had completely forgotten about that! I think for ease I will just drop it off at the powdercoaters :) Although it hasn't even turned up as the postman seems to of been scared by the foot of snow overnight lol

James update on getting car back together?

Going pretty well thanks Mike :) I now have collected/had delivered every part for the car apart from the brake calipers and the fibreglass doors to get it finished. The car is mechanically pretty much there, all fluids are done. Just waiting for the brake calipers to be back and then I can get the car back on the ground. Jay is very kindly coming up to help for a few day from tonight with the wiring so I'm hoping to have that done by Tuesday next week. Then just need to fabricate a new gear linkage rod (hopefully Fred will ;)) get the fancy Motorsport connectors done by a specialist in Leeds and then it will be ready for fire up and mapping.

I had already done the geo the other month when the car was back on the ground so good enough for shakedown to make sure all goes to plan and then proper setup and geo before going straight to Brands with no other testing.

Superb work as always James, I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to the latest instalment on here/facebook.

Despite everything that you've been through with it you're still determined which is the best bit about the whole thing :)

If in doubt, flat out. ;)
Exactly Andy :) One day it will bite me on the arse

Thanks Matt :) Everythings gone a bit quiet with updates recently just been trying to crack on and everything feels like slow progress.
