    changing engine mounts tips?

I'm also tackling this in the next week or so. Do you just need to remove the undertray for the engine mount? Is there anything else? Can you can change the gearbox mount by just taking the battery/airbox out?

Quick powerflex dogbone fitting question (pics inside)

Just fitted it and wow, a nice difference! A bit more vibration in the car but gear change is a lot smoother and best of all, my clutch vibration when accelerating is gone. Jackpot. Next thing is new engine mounts I think

Quick powerflex dogbone fitting question (pics inside)

So I managed to beat everything out and get the powerflex kit on: And fitted it to the car again, I haven't tightened anything yup yet. Can someone tell me where the washers go? I've arrowed them here where I've put them. One between the gearbox and bush and one between the bush and the...

Another, what's that noise? Buzz/Chatter when under power (Video)

yea sorry about that, it's faint alright on the video but in the cabin it's 100% noticable but it certainty wasn't there a while back. It sounds like noisy tappets. Maybe it is the exhaust, I never thought of that actually. IT's not affecting engine performance or mpg, in fact it seems better...

Another, what's that noise? Buzz/Chatter when under power (Video)

Hi guys, cam belt, aux belt, dephaser, water pump etc all changed about 3k ago now, but recently there's been a strange chatter or buzz when under acceleration. Car sounds completely fine (to my ears) when idling, revving standing still and coasting with the clutch engaged or not. As soon as...

Lumpy idle when cold but perfect when warm?

They're all the same, as long as it goes normal after a minute or two I wouldn't worry. Mine backfires and all when it's cold and I'm driving.

where/how to get to the crank shaft sensor

On a 1*2 it's under the air box above the gearbox. This is what it looks like new. You'll have to replace the plug and switch with the replacement.

    Brake click when changing direction

Sounds good to me. Yea the Front OS Gandi. I also agree about the ferodos producing so much dust, I've mintex on the rear and they're perfect. The rears seem fine anyway, I replaced the clips and all and I've no issues. The front at least have stopped squealing, they just click now.

    Brake click when changing direction

Hey guys. So my brakes over the past month have been squealing like mad on my 182 recently, but there is still lots of meat left on the pads. On Saturday I stripped back all the brakes, cleaned the pads and calipers all up of brake dust, crud etc, regreased the back of the pads and corners of...

    FN10 Sealing Selector Installation questions

Hey Martin, I did this at the weekend and wow, that gearbox seal is a right nasty piece of work to remove. I didn't realise it was metal inside! I had to get a hacksaw to remove it! Apart from that the only problems were getting the 2 plastic pieces back into the hole, that took a fair bit of...

    air con delete devalue car?

If it's not a track car and the car came with air con and it's not working, I'd be looking very carefully at the asking price. If it's cheap enough, the car is in great nick and it's been done properly then sure what's the problem.

    FN10 Sealing Selector Installation questions

Nice Video tutorials I found on the net here. It doesn't say anything about refitting the spring, and it also notes the box needs to be emptied when removing that bolt. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm7ni-5fyeI Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu_q52sM70A Part 3...

    FN10 Sealing Selector Installation questions

Ah I see the circlip now, it's under the rusted selector in that picture above and you then pull down the ball socket and remove the rod. Again, robbed picture from the interwebs! The gaiter shown int he above pic, is that the one you remove? Not the one at the end of the long selector?

    FN10 Sealing Selector Installation questions

Hi guys, so I got my kit this morning from http://www.tnd-france.com/ and I've a few questions over the installation of this. I robbed these instructions from another thread: Now questions are, before I get under the car: Where is this circlip on the gearbox? Is it under the gaiter? Do...
