Any ideas for an emergency bypass of the pas pump, i.e a shorter belt that may suffice etc? Reason being that my high pressure hose split en route to work lost all fluid, and after stoppping to make this discovery I had to drive a few miles to work. I now think the pump is about to seize as I...
Any guidance, tips on how to? What holds the gear on? End casing comes off to reveal it I guess, is there a gasket or sealant for refitting the casing?
Which 5 th gear are you potentially swapping to ph1 tom?
Saw this last night, thought I spied an intercooler and obviously was not standard by the speed of it! Flicking through the pics from the photographer and saw your car with the front tyres lit up out of corners!
Sounds good, be interested to hear the outcome when yours is running. Any idea how much the cams are moved? I dint think there was too much tolerance in the timing hence it being so crucial even when doing a standard timing. Obviously some room for small adjustment then providing you can measure...
Oh ok, interesting. So this tool, puts the cam(s) in what kind of position relative to standard, and to the crank? Inlet stays as per Renault tool and exhaust cam is retarded? Or both are adjusted?
Had this sort of trouble when I fitted a new one (the plunger/electrical part I replaced, into my original plastic housing part)
Started it up expecting a nice idle, only to get circa 3k rpm as you say! Took it back out and moved the plunger bit by hand-can't remember exactly now but sure it...
Love sunflowers!
With the aerocatch front bumpers (noticed a couple of ph1's with it)....is it just fixed on with the catches? Or is there additional bolts/screws anywhere? It's something I'd like to do in the future, any guides around for it?
Silver would be nice, they were freshly Powdercoated in white when I bought them. Have been considering different colour when they're a little more brake dust eaten (which won't be too far away I'd imagine!)
Yeah give it a go, symptoms sound exactly like ICV. I just got the valve linked in the thread, drill out 2 rivets, fit new valve and use 2 small bolts to secure it.
I did have to play with the new valve piston position a couple of times, I.e adjust how far in or out it was set before bolting...
Had similar recently, cleaning the ICV made little to no difference. New ICV sorted it. You can drill out the rivets holding the ICV into the plastic housing bit, and buy a laguna or similar item (just the moving electrical valve) from eBay etc-then fit into the ICV housing of the ph1.
A...
Ahh I see, yeah would be interested in what the gearbox code is. Thanks for the info.
Be great to see an f4r on webers, something different, even if it's not typical route to go.
Saw 'OCD' a few times on and around the ring at weekend! I was there in my blue PH1 172. Looked good, weather spoilt our trip as only there for the Saturday and then Sunday first half. Think one of my mates has a good pic of you just before the ticket barrier and behind a DC5. Will see if I can...
Just a thought....assuming it is correct that, as standard, 172's are 64mm and 182/197 are 60mm- it may be related to the difference in engine breathing from the exhaust manifold characteristics.
I have no idea what manifold 197 are (but guessing 4-2-1??) 182 also being 4-2-1 and the 172 being...
So it's possible 182's have slightly smaller tb's? Ph1 is cable operated and 64mm I/d. Maybe your cup one has been bored out at some point? Wouldn't have guessed that they were different from 172ph2-182....
Is it a noticeable/worthwhile difference going to 64mm on the 197's?
